Do the Japanese appreciate anime dubbed in English?

The intent of the wiki is for helping people learn languages, English or Japanese. Not a simple repository of fan translations. The English transcripts there are of English dubs to help Japanese speakers along as they listen to them.

Ah, cool. I spotted that and mentioned it here mainly because that post really interested me since I'm a big Clannad fan. Not just that, though, but I thought the choices were really good too. The exciting thing is that a dub of Clannad will likely become a reality now that ADV has the license. ADV has had representatives visit this forum before and have had cast guessing games on some of their dubs in the past (including Air and Kanon) So it's possible there could be one for Clannad and the cast will get revealed here. Or maybe we won't know until the first DVD comes out. Hard to tell with ADV lately as their reps had to be silent for most of the year due to problems with Sojitz.

Fort Worth VA's in Houston (ADV) dubs tend to be rarer than Houston VA's in Fort Worth (FUNimation) dubs, though there were two in Kanon. Brina Palencia has done work outside of FUNimation before since she was in NYAV Post's live-action dub of The Machine Girl.

By the way, currently in Japan, some English-learners are using english dubbed anime as a textbook. They need help of native-speakers.

I'm not a learner, but just a dub supporter, so it's not right for me to introduce them arbitrarily. (I know I speak engrish, though) But I bet there's some interesting things for you, like mini-reviews of the English track.

Oh, I see; my mistake. My point was that having a translation available would assist for the only show for which I cannot simply turn on the subtitle stream to understand and learn the Japanese words I do not yet understand. But as you mentioned, I have misinterpreted the intent of the site, so I have previously made an irrelevant and somewhat unnecessary remark.

etc... It's pretty much the same thing over and over again. "Wow, they're the spitting image of how I imagine them in my mind!" sort of thing.

Keep in mind the comments are self selecting. If you hate english dubs you'd never comment on the video.

It's not entirely immune to criticism as I saw one person note in English that Andy McAvin was "not hentai enough" in Azudai

One person seemed surprised by Wendee Lee's age. That was worth a lol.

For some reason I was interested in the titles that were listed for each actor. Air and Kanon came up frequently and Welcome to the NHK was noted for Chris Patton (I've heard he's really good in that show). Whoever did the notes seemed to do their homework as I saw Bastard!! noted for James Penrod. I wish I could read more of the titles, as I'm left wondering if they highlighted Fullmetal Alchemist for Vic Mignogna. Seems too obvious for it noted to be noted..

Have any of these videos included Ocean or New York dubs yet? I don't recall seeing any from the former at least

Yeah, it looks like they did. The other roles noted were Yukito from Air and Viral from Gurren Lagann (the ADV Gurren Lagann dub roles seemed to be listed on many of them, even though it was never released).
