Default Now and Then to air on Sci-fi channel

According to the scifi channel scheduel on their website on July 28, the same day they are set to premier Guerren Laggen(which is still marked as "TBD" on the scheduel) at 12 and 12:30 they have Now and Then written.

Hope this is news.

That's great to hear, since I missed out on the DVDs.
Hope more CPM titles manage to show up on TV (Anime Selects has a good selection too).

Such a good series. It's good that it's getting on TV so more people can see it. I myself already own the dvds though.

CPM managed to get several of their series on TV, but I think this is the first time it's been on a major channel.

I would love to see Central Park come back and start doing new titles. But given the state of the market, I don't think that's likely to happen. But right now, I'll just be ecstatic to see ADV pull out of it's funk.

Hmm... so at 12:30, people will say "Wow, I loved Gurren Lagann! I can't wait for next week's episode! Ooh, there's more anime. I wonder what this is?"

And at 1:00, people will say "Never mind next week. I'll just commit suicide right now."

(Full disclosure: I love NTHT, but I can't imagine it ever getting a TV airing.)

The juxtaposition is the fun part!

Now and Then, Here and There ("NTHT") would throw a number of people for a loop when they get to its second episode after the seemingly plain jane first.

While you're having difficulty, I'm very happy that it's getting a TV airing in the US. I got to watch NTHT on TV when it was aired in Asia as early as 2000/2001 in the daily 2-hour anime timeslot of Sony's AXN-Asia channel. This was way before Animax Asia was launched.

AZN also aired several other CPM titles, including World of Narue and Descendants of Darkness. There were a couple others too, but I'm too lazy to look them up tonight.

i think NTHT is a great show to introduce people to anime: it's short, has a mature and emotionally charged story, and no real cultural gap. in fact, i DID use it to get a friend into anime
