Default Otoboku: Maidens Are Falling For Me

When I read about Otoboku, I had to chuckle and shake my head as the whole premise of this show seems patently ridiculous. And even though I've already seen my fair share of genderbending shows in my time, I find myself curious about this series. Has anyone seen it, and is it worth my time?

Oh yeah, I have seen this one.

Did it get licensed?

I enjoyed it, average stuff, but at least interesting. Seeing the main lead fail or succeed.

It's pretty much fluff in content, but enjoyable fluff.

Have to agree here. For the price its going for its worth it, just don't expect anything too deep. The characters are likable though.

I've watched the first disc and so far I like what I've seen. It's not shaping up to be anything terribly deep that I'll divine the meaning of life from, but it is certainly worth the asking price.

I have the 1st DVD but I saw the whole series. It was fluffy, kind of cute anime, funny too. At the price it's hard to say "no". As fore-warned you shouldn't expect more than the usual anime stuff, but it's good for just sitting back and letting the show do most of the work . . . entertainment . . . . nothing too deep.

Thanks for the comments about the show which has piqued my curiosity. I think I'll give Otoboku a try and let everyone know what I think.

Another recommendation for the show from me. You can ignore the main premise of the series for pretty much all except the first and last couple of episodes. Other than that, it's a slice-of-life series in an all-girls school. The characters are cute and likeable, and there's a certain amount of tasteful (and sometimes very funny) fan-service. I enjoyed it a lot, but as others have said, don't expect anything deep.

As a side note there's a 13th OVA episode that features the characters mainly in SD form, playing out a version of a fairytale. I don't know if that's included in the R1 release of not - but it's an excellent bonus if it is.
