Unhappy Maison Ikkoku OOP?

Right Stuf, Animenation, Animecornerstore, Amazon & ebay only have certain box sets of Maison Ikkoku. Box #8 is the one none have. Viz states "no longer available"
http://store.viz.com/product_info.ph...a0274e4d5e7326

It seems MI is now officially OOP.
If so isn't it time for a thinpack reissue, perhaps 6 volumes per box (so 4 boxes)? The R2J DVDs are also OOP.

Perhaps someone could ask Viz at Otakon.

I've been wanting to get this show for a really long time. Now would be a perfect time for a re-release since they are about done with Ramna. A re-release of Boys Over Flowers would be good too...

This would be a great way to do it.

Wasn't Maison Ikkoku already a thinpack ed.? I seem to remember the boxsets being among the earlier ones. Maybe I'm imagining that though [I have it on VHS, and just got the manga in place of the last few boxes]. I'm not sure if there's enough demand to merit a re-edition, though it is Rumiko Takahashi we're talking about, so who knows? The Ranma boxses have been reissues, and the Inu Yasha boxsets have just finished, and it might be awhile before VIZ can import the new Inu Yasha OVA's [or for that matter, till her next work gets animated]

I'd kind of like to see a reissue of the One Pound Gospel OVA with the manga finishing up recently though....

Yep, MI's on the way to OOP-land and has been for awhile. I ordered the online-exclusive boxes during a Viz sale at TRSI last year and they didn't send the fifth one. I managed to snag the fifth set off Amazon.

No, three regular DVD cases per set.

New Inu Yasha OVAs? How recent are they? Were they released after the TV series and fourth movie?

There's a special gallery exhibition called "It's a Rumic World" showing in Japan Furinkan has some scans of newspaper articles about it. A brand-new InuYasha episode with an original story called "The Black Tessaiga" will be shown, reuniting the japanese voice cast. As the exhibition's only on for a limited time, I hope there'll be a DVD release

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...akahashi-event

It reminds me of the Jump Festival films we hear about [though I'm not sure if those end up on DVD either]

Still, it's a good sign for more anime being made with the manga finishing up. The article also mentions Rumiko wants her "next work to be read by boys" [which I guess means she'll still be doing shonen manga?].

Well, I'm glad I ordered it when it was on sale... It is one of the best series from 80's if not the best.

About Inu Yasha, they better finish up the anime. God, I hated how Ranma never got the proper ending.

This was a great series to watch. I love it from the beginning to the end. It's a series that should not be OOP. I'm glad that I got it early last year before the series got hard to find.

I hold out hope that they'll release them as thinpacks, as I still need Vol 5 and Vol 8...
Vol 5 is possible to get on ebay or amazon (used) but Vol 8 I can't even find listed most of the time.
I'll even doubledip on thinpacks if it will please the anime gods into having them do thinpacks x_x.

I'm hoping so too, I really enjoyed what I've seen of the series. It'd be a shame if it were completely OOP.
