Question Has ADV licensed the Clannad movie too?

While browsing through CDJ for Clannad:After Story, I came across a DVD release for a Clannad movie!
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=FCBM-4

As I don't download or read d/l-seen discussion threads this was news to me.

Has ADV announced the movie's license as well as Clannad TV? Is the movie just a TV compilation? As its "first" is the movie open ended for others to follow?

No, ADV hasn't licensed the movie.

My understanding of the movie is that it is focuses on Nagisa's story from After Story, albeit a different version of events than what the TV series will probably take. In other words, its heavily compressed and full of spoilers from that second season. I would imagine that most of the characters other than Nagisa and Tomoya don't get much screentime. And no, its not a compilation or intended to have other movies follow.

As far as I know, ADV hasn't licensed the movie yet. And the movie is essentially like the Air-movie: A different version of the same story... Kinda. A lot of stuff was changed, and they went further into the story than the TV-series has done thus far, thus essentially making it a freaking huge spoiler for people who haven't played the visual novel. And the movie-ending is fairly conclusive, even though I can practically guarantee that the visual novel doesn't end there, due to reasons I feel like I shouldn't mention.

Isnt that just the Movie they made before the TV series?

That one just tells both the Clannad and After Story seasons in a movie. Some characters are changed a bit, others are removed I think, as it encompasses essentially 2 seasons. Although most of the focus is on the first seasons if I recall right. As it was released before the first TV series, it isnt a compilation, it's more like the Air movie in that it's a retelling, but slightly different. Although, unlike Air, the Clannad movie was done by Kyoto Animation as well.

And no, no word on whether or not ADV has the movie. I would imagine they have an option on it, but they may be waiting to see how the TV series does, especially if they plan on releasing After Story as well. It probably would make sense to release the movie after both TV arcs as opposed to the beginning the way it was done in Japan. It's a hard call though since a movie is an easy buy to test a series, and the TV series is significantly different, as Air TV is different from Air the Movie.

...No, it isn't. The movie was made by Toei, just like the Air-one.

No, they don't. But even if they do do it, it'd make sense to license and release all of Clannad After Story (TV) first. And that's still airing, so...

Actually that's incorrect, the Clannad Movie is in fact a Toei Animation production. I mean they even have an official site for the movie. On a side note, I would not be surprised if Key will continue a strategy of letting Toei do a movie version and Kyo-Ani doing a TV series version.

Edit: Apparently I type slow, but to add to this I do have to wonder what Kanon would have been like in movie format, but that's another story.

Hah, one look at the character designs makes the difference clear as can be. In some ways I'm almost glad it's Toei and not KyoAni. If it were KyoAni I would have been really tempted to watch it, which would have spoiled the TV series for me. But knowing it was from Toei it was incredibly to ignore it. Just as importantly, it seems like most others ignored it too, so there are less people running around the internet trying to spoil things.

Take this even further. Imagine a scenario where not only Kyo-Ani ends up doing the movie, Toei gets the TV series.
