Post Top Five Things Anime Companies Did Wrong in 2008

Things go wrong no matter how well you do things, but sometimes there are things that are within your control as well. I'd assume because there's now an article.

Ah, I found the old thread. I didn't think it was that far down already, so I didn't find it when I initially checked.

Interesting to read the full article. I pretty much agree with what Chris said. It's going to be an…interesting…year ahead.

Nice article! I don't really agree too much on the points of devaluing of anime but I can see where you're definitely coming from. However, I still enjoyed the read.

Nice article, Chris. Definitely agree that the (lack of) communciation was one of the biggest problems this year. Whether that will improve in 2009 or not remains to be seen, but I'll be cautiously optimistic about it.

The article notes that they are "in no particular order".

I personally find Viz's (lack of) communication with their incomplete titles to be the biggest offense (discussed mainly in #4 instead). Everything so far from them just seems insulting...

"The Dying Dub" is definitely something that really needed to be discussed too, so I'm glad it was included in the article. There are some very worrying problems there, especially for an anime fan like me that values a quality bilingual audio track with DVD's.

Oops, duely noted .

And I do agree about the "dying" English dub being a worrysome concern in the industry, though I don't place that heavy of an emphasis with English dubs as most people apparently do.

A nicely done article, and I can agree with them all to some point... Though I'll be honest that a lack of a dub isn't a big problem to me, though if it means that we might miss out on a potentially excellent dub for a show (or we won't be getting the rest of an excellent dub, like GaoGaiGar's), then I can understand the worry.

Hopefully the companies will take a look at this and see what they can do to fix their problems.
