Default Are we ever going to see Shakugan no Shana II?

I've been hoping that this show would be licensed soon, but it never seems to happen. ;_;

As with any series only time will tell. Although as time passes one's confidence in a license happening will obviously lower over time. That being said the fun part about guessing the fate of a license is this.

If you say "It will never be licensed" then you can pretend you're right so long as the series remains licensed. You only officially become wrong once it is licensed. Assuming it ever is.

If you say "It will eventually be licensed", you have to wait until you're proven right. A wait that could last a very very very long time depending on the series in question.

Nobody here can possibly answer that for you, although my personal feeling is that it's got a much better chance than many shows. Hopefully Funi is impressed enough with its singles and set sales.

Still, as much as I want Shana II licensed, I want Shana III to get announced and animated even more.

I've read up on the latest novels... wow is all I can say lol. Looking at what season 2 "covered" we won't see a sequel series for awhile, you really can't animate any of what's after it. I expect it to end rather soon, maybe vol 20 or 21? (Vol 18 out March 09) That should give a good amount for a third season. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a third season of Index (first season will cover 5 of 16 novels out atm, and there's also 2 side story novels) before Shana's 3rd.

You mean because there is no good stopping point, much like the supposed reason we haven't seen more FMP anime?

That depends entirely on how well Index does on DVD. Shana remains very popular (so another sequel is guaranteed), but if Index sales are disappointing, we won't see another season, no matter how much material is left.

As for a Shana II license, I suppose Funimation will base its decision on S1 boxset sales.

I do think it will eventually happen, but when Funimation will make the announcement, I have no idea.

It's time to graduate from here. But there's still some business left.

Will it get licensed? It's hard to say, but I'm really, really hoping it does as I loved season 1. I would buy season 2 without any hesitation.

QfT. By the time JC Staff is done being inconsistent with Index they should be all ready to deliver the best season of Shana yet.

I'd settle for either a license or a new show announcement honestly. There is a day left in the Funimation announcement event. Never say never.

Same here! I also loved the first season and would love to see (ie buy) the second season.
