Default Bleach collector's edition

I bought this when it came out (online, at the usual very reputable retailer I get everything from), and it surprised me when I received it because it seemed to just be the exact same thing as the regular volume 1 but with a hardcover - it was even the 9th printing - so it looked like they'd just stuck the pages of the regular volume into a hardback cover, with identical artwork.

So I thought that was just what this "collector's edition" was going to be, until I had a look round Forbidden Planet in London and found another version of the collectors edition, this time it had new (black with foil embossed words) artwork, it was hardback, and it had tons of added content. I didn't buy it because I already had my own version at home, so I contacted my online retailer and they said there must be different versions released, or the one I saw could be a store exclusive/Diamond distribution exclusive.

Any thoughts? Does anyone else have either one of the versions I've written about?

I'd check the ISBN against something like an Amazon listing to make sure you got the right book...

I think you're confusing the Collector's edition which is just a Hardcover reprint of the first volume and the Bleach SOULS Official Character Book, which is Black with metallic fonts.

I was confused but I'm not anymore, checked the ISBN and it seems I actually got sent the library edition of the first volume. I found the real Collector's Edition here, and I must have seen the Character Book and the Collector's Edition in Forbidden Planet and mixed them up, I definately remember picking up the Collector's Edition and reading "Collector's Edition" on the front.

Mystery solved, though I think I may persue this and see if I can get them to change the listing or something, or if I can swap it, it was expensive!!

As for another mystery that I brought up -way- back, which may be solved now: I saw a random volume 4 (or 7) of Death Note in hardback with a paw-print instead of (or near) the Viz logo in Waterstones, which I will now assume was an unofficial library edition.
