Default Greg Ayres talks about Medical Issue

"I know there has been much speculation and inquiry as to my health, and the events surrounding my hospitalization last weekend during IkkiCon in Austin, Texas. I was hospitalized after experiencing chest pains and on Saturday I suffered a mild heart attack. Thankfully, due to the hard work of the hospital staff and the medical treatment I received prior, the damage to my heart was so much less than it could have been.

I'm happy to hear that it isn't as serious as it could have been, given how serious this potentially could have been.

Greg Ayres is an absolute gem in the industry, not only for his works in dubs but also what he does for the industry in speaking about the problems going on (with piracy and illegal distribution).

Best wishes to Greg, and I hope for his speedy recovery!

It's fine. We just wanted to cut down on the rumors and speculation until we heard something definitive, and this is about as definitive as it gets.

I'm glad to hear this was not nearly as bad as it could have been. Good luck with your recovery, Greg.

It's good to hear that this was not as bad as it could have been, and that he's already back home and resting.

Best wishes to Greg and hopes for his speedy recovery.

Ditto. Glad that it wasn't as serious as originally feared.

Well I'm glad to hear Greg is doing well and I hope for his recovery to be speedy. I was really worried when stuff was pulled down and Fans View went offline (BTW, anyone know what is going on with that site?).

While I have to say I didn't mind the threads being closed in general when it became clear that the information sources were cloudy and the family wanted some privacy, I was a bit upset over how the news was pulled off ANN with no explanation and the halt to all discussion on at least three big boards happened (ToonZone's thread went a bit longer but also got deleted). IMO it just added to the feeling that something really bad had happened when it turned out that wasn't what was going on at all (this was not a good thing to happen to Greg (or anyone else for that matter) but imaginations can make things quite a bit worse if left to run wild).

Anyway, I felt AoD of the three sites handled it better with the locked thread set up because deleting it like it never was posted to begin with confused a already confusing situation, IMO.

It's time to graduate from here. But there's still some business left.
