Default Your Favorite Colleen Clinkenbeard Roles

It was not that long ago when she burst into the scenes and now, is one of the best out of Fort Worth. And so for the month of May, I have selected Colleen Clinkenbeard. So with that, I would like you to pick your five favorite roles from Colleen Clinkenbeard.

There's Mama and there's everyone else.

(OK, Mitsuki (Rumbling Hearts) and Rose (Solty Rei) are my other two favorite performances)

She's awesome as Yuko from XXXHolic, she made that dub as far as I'm concerned.

She's actually played two characters named "Eclair"? That's kinda cool in a weird way.

I only used three of my picks, since I either didn't watch the shows she was in (either at all or in English), I didn't particularly care about the character she voiced or it's been too long since I've watched a show she starred in for me to remember.

In any case, my absolute favourite role of hers is the lovely Esther from Trinity Blood, hands down. I thought it wouldn't be easy to top Mamiko Noto's rendition of her, but Colleen nailed it! As a result, I don't have a preference - I love both voice actresses' renditions of her equally.

My next favourite would be Mitsuki from Kiminozo, followed by Riza from FMA.

Two Colleen roles stand out for me as roles that I don't think anyone could potentially have done or ever do...

Yuko (xxxholic)
Eclair (Kiddy Grade)

I also enjoyed her role in Case Closed quite a bit. Perhaps from a technical standpoint, not as memorable or as ear-catching as her other roles, but it was a fun performance nonetheless in my book.

Some other notables for me:

Riza (FMA)
Kirara (Samurai 7)

I only voted for Yuuko from xxxHolic, although her performance makes the show for me. For that reason, I decided to vote. I haven't seen a lot of the rest, although the popular ones are comfortably ensconced on my backlog (Kiddy Grade, Rumbling Hearts, etc....)

This was surprisingly easy, considering that Ms. Clinkenbeard is pretty much incapable of recording a poor performance.

1) Eclair, Kiddy Grade - Her very first anime lead, right? The show may have ultimately proved to be a (big) disappointment, but Colleen's presence in it (among other things), had me helplessly hooked from day one. Sexy, vibrant and seemingly effortless.

2) Mama, Kodomo no Omocha - Again, she makes it seem so easy to play with both the comedic and dramatic. Her appropriately over the top lines are so much of what make up the character, who is absolutely lovable.

3) Mitsuki, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ("Rumbling Hearts") - I think I mention this pretty much anytime I talk about this show, but I really disliked the English script...except for one or two particular changes/additions. At the same time, the show was so well cast that I was forced to do my English-viewing anyway with the subs on (cuz I've got OCD like that ). Colleen, again, helps paint a character that is sexy, vulnerable and surprisingly real (by that, I mean human). She certainly pulls that off better than Ishibashi Tomoko on the Japanese track.

4) Galatea, Claymore - I just watched the fifth volume of this series this past weekend, and it has become very clear that THERE IS NOT ENOUGH GALATEA IN IT. Gah! She's so cool!!

5) Riza Hawkeye, Full Metal Alchemist - So I was only able to watch 18 or 19 episodes of FMA. I may finish it someday, though it's not a high priority. Anyway, I thought this character was both cool and funny enough to edge out some of the other nominees that I could have checked off on the ballot.

Other characters worth mentioning:

Nurse Yuki from Diamond Daydreams
Chiaki from Darker than Black (because I just watched this awesome performance a day or so ago).
Alita/Falis, Murder Princess (another recent one. Very fun).
