Summary:
The film itself is quite poor if you are looking for a well meaning story. It’s predictable, clichéd, obvious and a lot of the acting and effects are too over the top – whether intentional or not I’m not sure but the finale product makes it seem like a B-Movie Hollywood project. However, it’s hard not to like Cutie Honey if you just take it for what it is, a fun, mind-numbing romp where you check your brain outside and just laugh. Whether at or with is up to you, but it’s worth at least a rent, if nothing else you will get a couple of good drinking games out of it.

I definitely enjoyed this when I saw the US release a few years back. It's just good campy fun right from the start. And I got a lunch box out of it!

The whole franchise (like other Go Nagai shows such as Kekko Kamen) is pretty much built on that premise alone.

The theme of the movie is friendship, love & how no person is an island. The movie Cutie Honey, & Honey herself, uses many themes that are in Sailor Moon. She even calls herself a warrior of love. This seems more like Cutie Honey Flash (made by many of the Sailor Moon staff). Re: has all the fanservice you desire IIRC.

Its good to see spot appearances by Hideaki Anno (as a salaryman) & Go Nagai (as a car driver).

How can anyone be cruel to someone as cute as this Honey?
