In all fairness those repeated email are pointless, and no other retailer I know of sends them. Of course they can't ship the item yet, otherwise it wouldn't have said "Item not yet shipping" on the item page.

Given that they do keep the status of folks' orders updated on pages in everyone's accounts, as other retailers generally do, they are kind of redundant. But, speaking for myself, it's more convenient to pop open an e-mail (or even just see the subject line) than it is to go to their site to log in to my account and page through various outstanding orders to see what the status of each one is.

But TRSI, or any retailer for that matter, can't and shouldn't be held accountable when someone is wildly misinterpreting the point of those e-mails or the information they contain.

I think that it is on the redundant side too. Maybe if they had an opt out option for those updates, it would have spared us this discussion.

I like it, especially with my long-term preorders especially when things get hectic, and it's not like it would take long to check off and delete them all in one go without even reading them in any e-mail program/online e-mail, I don't really understand the complaint at all IMO.

My copy shipped out yesterday it looks like, glad the wait's over.

Yeah, my copy shipped from Right Stuf yesterday. I wonder if they just had to wait until the official street date to ship their copies out. At least I know I'm getting it soon, but I'll definitely be waiting for the Bandai Store to have it for pre-order for the next one.
