All right. I'm really confused now. Igneel lives and the Master's female friend knows him (and may not be human), Ultear was only pretending to be Zeref, Gajeel is a double agent, and I still have no idea who the fuck Mystogan/non-Jellal is.

And meh. I knew Laxus would be redeemed. But I'd still rather he'd not have been.

I liked my ideas for why Fairy Law wouldn't work better. The fight was pretty awesome though and I like how things played out with Laxus. The Fairy Tail parade was pretty cool, I especially liked Gray and Juvia's ice and water show. The send off for Laxus was actually pretty nice. I mostly like how things played out with Laxus and think it worked out pretty well in the end, but I think the stuff with Fairy Law was a mistake and threw a wrench into trying to make Laxus' shift work as well as it should have.

But the most interesting part is Ultear making her reappearance. It basically confirms what we were expecting but with a slight twist. She's not Zeref. She was pretending to be Zeref. And she's working for something called Hades. Additionally, it seems that Zeref may still be out there somewhere doing something, since we also saw Igneel communicating with some glowing crystal thing and they mentioned Zeref, and I assume they weren't talking about the fake one. Maybe Mystogan is the actual Zeref. Wouldn't that be a bizarre twist. But then, the whole Mystogan/Jellal thing is already enough of a WTF, adding the Zeref twist wouldn't make it much more of one.

Oh, and apparently Gajeel isn't really working for Ivan, he's actually a double agent working for Makarov the whole time. Supposedly. We may yet find out he's actually a triple agent.

Oh, and Makarov is still the Master, no successor has been chosen yet. I guess Makarov is probably going to continue being the head honcho for a while.

On a side note, this thread is getting pretty huge at this point. Since the arc ended at the season break and we are approaching 50 episodes (and not ending anytime soon), should we start a new thread with the next episode?

That was Poluchka, or whatever the old woman's name is.

Good idea. I've been considering it myself, seeing as how this show should easily be running another 4 cour. Yumeiro got a new thread as well, and the only difference is a title change since it's still airing straight through.

I think I'll just go start the thread now so it's ready for whoever posts about 49 first.

I think she's another dragon, actually... Perhaps Poluchka is the "herb dragon slayer" or something... But considering her long friendship with Makarov and the pictures of her when she was young, it might just be a case of reusing seiyuu.

I guess I was assuming that Grandine or whatever was her dragon name. And she's just taking human form right now. The timing of the scenes also seemed a but much for a coincidence. We'll see.

Ban? No, not from just linking a scanslation site. That's not really a big deal. Although I will generally remove the links if they don't actually have any relevance to the conversation (like I did here). If someone is, say, linking a scan to make a comparison and prove censorship or whatever, that's fine, some other uses are fine too. Just dropping a link completely unnecessarily in the middle of a post will get removed though.

Edit: Actually, looking at the sig... yeah I'm calling spambot. I haven't had sigs or avatars on in like a year, so I didn't notice.
