The label placement seems okay. It didn't cover up Alice. In any case, a pass on this as I own the singles with artbox.

Well...not according to most people . But for me I thought it was a GREAT show, especially the first half. I loved the original concept of dealing with the aftermath of war, not the war its self. That was great, and then the idea of taking down tanks, while over-the-top as hell, was very original. And the stories are all good. But the characters are what makes the show. I really found them all very likeable. And although it's usually pretty seriious, the few jokes were very funny. This is an all around great show IMO. Underrated.

Not sure if it was the HUGE wait to see the ending, or just the Gonzo-"there's ganna be a sequel if it sells!" (and it didn't) ending, but I really didn't like the last few episodes too much. But the rest of it was great. And ADV's dub is top notch. It's very fresh and lively. Kaytha Coker as Alice was full of win. Also Manley plays the dog , nice!

This series was often cited in the past as a hidden gem. And so far through the first 12 episodes I agree (recently picked up the 2 sets from TRSI for absurdly cheap).

A series with Western character/setting and strong English dub always gets my attention, but it still must follow through as a quality show of course. The series is very strong on building character and character relationships, and benefits from them largely being believable in their roles. Such as Oreldo, who would come off in the real world as a legit ladies man, in stark contrast to some Japanese school boy with a harem.

There is good action when fighting starts, and it even scores with a great opening sequence. I like female singers who can kick up a good growl when the song calls for it, as here. Though ironically, the song is more aggressive in tone than the usual slower pace of the episode that follows...

It is too bad this series never seemed to get a significant price moderation anywhere until it hit bargain-binned/S.A.V.E. time, otherwise I would have picked it up earlier at a middling price point. Hell, I'm enthused enough about it so far to do an avatar change, for now at least...

so it's your typical Gonzo show that starts out moderatly decent and falls apart in the end?

I might buy it from TRSI bargain bin then to see if I like it at all.
thanks for the response.

Please tell me those labels are removable? It's covering up artwork and the show's name on the spine.
