Do you like to talk about anime? To spend time going over the plot of various series, talking about why you liked or didn’t like them, what worked and what didn’t? Well, we’re looking to add two new anime DVD reviewers to the site and we want to work with those that participate regularly on the forum level before looking to cast a wider net.
What we’re looking for is someone who writes in our current template of covering the various technical areas and then spending time talking about the content before summarizing their overall feelings about it in a non-spoiler way. We’re looking for someone who can handle doing at least a single 26 episode series per month or working on half series at a time. If you think you can watch and write more, then we’ve got a bunch of anime releases sitting here looking for a good home and some good commentary one from you. We’re always getting in new collections – and reissues of collections that have come out before – so there’s plenty that’s regularly coming through our door.
Our requirements are pretty simple for this as we are more content focused than technical; you do need a widescreen (i.e. 16:9) TV of at least 32” and a 5.1 audio system. You should have a good eye for the basics kinds of audio and video issues that do crop up out there. You obviously have to write in a competent and compelling way. You need to live in the continental United States. And you must be at least twenty years or older to participate in this.
If you’re interested in this, send us a sample review of a title that you like but can be critical of to
webmaster@animeondvd.com with a subject of “Review Submission” for us to look over. Be sure to include all the areas we cover in all our DVD reviews as well as listing your equipment and anything you may think is pertinent to your winning the position. There are more writing possibilities beyond this as well if things work out. Most of our reviewers stay with us for quite awhile and we have a very low turnover rate. With the increasing number of collections coming out, we want to spread the wealth a bit more and get more opinions out there about all these shows coming out so people can make informed decisions. If you’d like to be a voice in this, then send in your submissions!
Moderator notice: If you have questions, feel free to ask them, but please understand that the requirements can't and won't change. If you don't meet them there are other ways to express your opinion through reviews, such as posting in the forums, making a blog post, or even sending reviews in to other sites. Lets keep this thread on topic.
