Shuffle or Romeo x Juliet

I'm thinking of showing either Shuffle (volume 1) or the first disk of Romeo x Juliet for a February anime screening. Which should I go with, and why? No spoilers, please.

This is for an anime club or something right? If so Romeo x Juliet is the perfect anime to show. Truly it is. It's a great story (duh?), and it has wide appeal, and it's all very well done. Gonzo poored a lot into it. From the music to the animation, to the changes from the original, a lot of thought and hard work went into this. And as I said, this has something for everyone. Great drama, a love story, interesting characters, and wonderful sword fights. And the themes it deals with are something many will enjoy I think.

Shuffle on the other hand is a very otaku show. Not sure if this would appeal to everyone. I am really enjoying too. But I don't think it's really a good choice. Starts off a little genericy, and later on there's some nudity and lots of fanservice. A fun, cute, little series. And with every new episode I've been liking it more and more. And it gets a lot more serious as it goes on (or so I hear, I have not finished it yet). But it wouldn't be a show I'd choose personally.

Plus Romeo x Juliet just gets off to a great start. Shuffle kinda fumbles around in the begining.

Romeo x Juliet is sure to be more of a crowd pleaser, that's for sure. Though it is a little odd to display one of the English language's masterpieces complete with an instantly recognizable English song for an anime club. It feels like it's somewhat missing the point.

I'm sure it will go over well though.

For the record. Shuffle's a better show when it's all put together.

Shuffle is the better show. I dropped RxJ halfway after I instantly and completely lost interest for whatever reason. But the early episodes of RxJ are amazing. I was so into it at first, until my interest in it collapsed midway.

It really depends on your audience. If they've got more mainstream western tastes, then RxJ, but if they've liked shows like Shuffle in the past, go with that. Although you might as well just watch both.

RxJ all the way. It's a great story and all and if you love Gankutsuou, you will like this. Shuffle is just about a festivity of fanservice. If you are interested, check it out later. But for the most part, forget about it.

well i'm so picking for romeo x juliet & besides you even might think of getting both sets to whole complete story in watching in 1 whole day (really i did that sometimes) yet really one of best english audio you should really watch besides i've seen it 10 times this 2009.
