I don't think you're suppose to sympathize with Tatsuya. Especially considering he's ten timing Maria even though she only thinks he's two timing her. Her mom, her aunt, her cousin, his childhood friend, pretty much any woman with a pulse and size G or larger breasts.

Shun on the other hand, is a bit crazy.

Tatsuya=Ultimate fantasy roleplay. Seriously, think of all the harems that have existed throughout the ages. Then come to the present and repeat after me, "Tiger Woods." Harems and concubines did exist openly, in various forms, throughout much of the world into even the 20th century, and continue to exist in various forms today. Hugh Hefner, anyone? Islam, IIRC, allows a maximum of 4 wives, and we continue to see various polygamous cults. So, there is a definite reality in the male psyche of wanting every woman a man can get. As Tiger Woods shows, that reality seldom works out as it does for Tatsuya. I agree, Tatsuya isn't likeable, but that Dark Side does exist in the male animal, in most men, myself included. Most men, however, realize that most women aren't going to become a willing sex slave, no matter how good you are, that this fantasy is a lie, and that more than 1 woman is a far too complicated life to live. So, as much as I dislike Tatsuya, I can relate. Even the most happily in love man is going to appreciate another woman's beauty.

Shun=Just plain nuts. I like MILFs and I like big breasts, so Scarlet Desire had an appeal for me. Shun kills the deal. Psycho is psycho. Tatsuya is unlikeable, yet most men should relate to him as an ultimate fantasy figure. Shun...if you can relate, please make that appointment to be castrated so as to prevent future crimes on your part.
