What are you talking about? MB is dubbing it. -note hybrid means English and Japanese in this case at TRSI.

Edit-Here is where he let it slip and Fencedude caught it.

Finally some good news about one of my top 'gief dub' shows. Dokuro being the only show on said list that I have actually seen, but still.

Dokuro+dub=SALE £.£ *Insert cash sound here*.

At least thats one show off the list.
Now, if anyone would like to throw this idea Bandai/Sentai's way.... >.>

I don't consider you the no dub company, but it is surprising that you're the the first company to go back and dub a show that was released sub-only in this current "challenging" retail environment.

(To those about to correct me with other examples of shows that were later dubbed, please, I know. I know them all. Read what I've typed).

I'm happy that you've decided to do this, and Dokuro-chan, a show I've passed on even though the price was quite reasonable for a sub-only release, I will now likely buy.

* Ah! My Buddha: Complete Collection - 650 minutes - $49.99 - 4/6/10
* Genshiken 2: Premium Collection - 300 minutes - $59.99 - 4/13/10
* Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Wolf, Vol.1 - 100 minutes - $29.99 - 4/27/10 [Dubbed]

- These for me. Love seeing Kanokon there, a show I never thought I'd see a license for. Very excited to see that 'type' get a release over here. For some reasons I was scared that single releases on 'unpopular' titles wouldnt get complete collections, but SOOO happy to be seeing one for Amaenaideyo! :D

Kanokon sounds like it's right up MB's alley. And I like the fact that you guys are going back to do a dub on Dokuro-chan. I take it that it sold pretty well for you guys to do the dub option? I'll rebuy it to get it with a dub. Not a bad idea either to do it this way, since different price point vs the sub only since the addition of a dub pretty much would justify it. Buy the entire OVA series sub only for $25 MSRP or you can get the SE with both sub and dub for $30.

Queen's Blade I'm not sure I would like, Kanokon I will pick up as I've heard some quite interesting things about the show.

Good to see you in the forums as always JS. And thanks for chiming in about the dub option issue. And lately you guys seem to be getting titles that I think will appeal to a good portion of the fanbase. Definitely keep them coming.

I think that has always been our style. We seem to do things that others will not. I believe we were one of the first not to dub shows when every show had to be dubbed, we did the boys love anime (including yaoi), we did yuri and we did shaw brothers/own productions in Japan. I always feel we need to keep changing and try many things. Some things some people will not like but that is ok.

Well wait till you see the Bible Black Live Action trailer....getting it done now. Maybe not as good as the Live Action Battle Angel Alita but atleast it will get done. Can not be worse than the Live Action Dragonball...

I don't know about sub only being cheper, but it is definitly cheaper for the consumer and the manufacturer to release. Unfortunatly for you, some people like dubbed anime, so anime will continue to be dubbed when a company decides that they can make enough money to warrant a dub.
I would say it is probably more than some, but like Fudce states the sub only has a smaller reach and a dub reaches a larger audience...it is a question of if that larger audience is going to buy or not. Sometimes MB judges they will, sometimes they judge they won't.

@magicalgirlj if the price is an issue if you wait long enough it will drop quite a bit eventually if MB holds to form...though it will require patience on your part. MB is in business to make money and if they feel a dub will help them make more that is when they will do it and why as well. *shrug* No one is forcing you to buy it.
but I do want to spport MB, they brought out Strawberry Panic, Otoboku, and Doujin Work proudly sitting on my shelf. I guess I will just Netflix their titles.

Oh no, John, you didn't... You did not just say that the "Naruto of Hentai" is getting made into a live-action movie, did you?

Maybe this was announced before, but it's news to me. This should be interesting.

... I kind of fear this a little...

And I do laugh that you are making this when Japan did not want subbed audio on the first disc for New Testament. "You can't have the sound there (well, until sales show an effect anyway ), but we will work with you to change our title into something else seems a bit odd to me.
