One issue I have with planning my purchases is keeping track of what has been solicited or not. Some of the shows I'm buying were not solicited all at once, and then there's also rereleases and the like, which may be of interest to me.
I follow this forum's threads and the BD forum's threads, of course, and find them useful. But is there a handy, comprehensive source out there specifically dedicated to keeping track of Japanese anime releases? Possibly one that some of you use already to post said threads. Unless I just need to keep an eye on all the different official homepages. Japanese language sites are probably okay, if they're simple to navigate. I think I can recognize most series titles in Japanese easily enough, and stuff like cost and release date is obvious.

AV Watch does look pretty good, once I figured out how to restrict to anime. Thanks.

After purchasing import anime video releases for almost a decade I've yet to find a comprehensive news source for tracking them. The nice thing about importing anime is that it's just a matter of when & how much versus will it even be licensed. That in mind try paying just a bit more attention to episode per disc info, the distributor, & catalog numbers.
In most cases television series are released on a monthly schedule starting about two months after the series if first broadcasted, movies within a year, but OVAs can be a crapshoot. Certain distributors have release trends that can be easily predicted (such as both LE & RE releases or a collector's box that comes with the first or last volume). Finally, if you know the catalog number for previous releases of a series just do a search adding 1 to the last digit to see if anything comes up (that's how I found the release dates for Railgun past volume 3).

There's always AV Watch's release calendar, along with their main news site.
DVD: http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/dvdship/ BD: http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/bdhdship/ Change 全ジャンル to アニメ and then click the 表示 button to change settings.
