Just a little heads up here. Our next big movie send back is September 21st. It's suppose to be pretty significant, especially for the stores going through remodels and transitions and will be one of the biggest of the year (if not THE biggest.) Some stores will be sending up to half of their DVDs and blurays back (mostly deep catalog titles), though the total amount will vary by store.

After this send back is when special teams may be sent into stores to remove unneeded fixtures and rearrange the departments as needed.

The last big send back didn't hit anime as drastically as ones in the past, but it's hard to say if it will be that way this time. So if you've been eying up something at your local store, you may want to pick it up before then, just to be on the safe side.

It looks like IGN posted about this yesterday.

Hmm, think I'll take a stop through several BBs stores while I'm traveling this weekend, just to see what's still there and if there are any clearances going on.

Is Bestbuy goung to carry Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2 because Online It's backordered and it says Store pickup not available does that mean they are not going to ship it to retail stores has the release date been changed?

This is an online product only for Best Buy. It won't be sold in-store. It's probably affected by the latest cutback on CDs and DVDs.

Wow, I didn't know about that. Pretty sobering.

It shouldn't be that surprising. There have been gradual sendbacks throughout this year. It affects releases beyond just anime.

So does that mean they will carry less anime and CD's online as well call me old fashioned but I like Physical Media not Digital I like to own things I am kind of mad at Bestbuy for making this drastic change at least have sales and let the people buy the items instead of just doing sendbacks and this also affects Blurays I see Bestbuy Killing Physical Media.

This won't (at least shouldn't) affect what their online site will carry. You will just have to weigh your options in terms online retailers.
