Today is the day for the performance of the play. Will all of the dramatics only be on stage?
What They Say

Finally the day of the Fujigaya's performance has arrived. The first years start off with a performance of "Le Petit Prince," followed by the second year's "Little Women." Everyone is busy as the plays (the elementary and middle school kids are also putting on performances) are about to begin. Fumi is busy as well, as she and the Drama Club group from her school have come to help out. She meets Yasuko before the plays begin and the two promise to meet up after the main event.
First comes "The Little Prince," performed by the elementary schoolers, then "Little Women" from the middle schoolers. Finally, we come to the main performance, "Wuthering Heights." While it is amusing to see a Takarazuka Revue (a famous all-female performing troupe in Japan) version of Wuthering Heights, it did remind me of how much I hated reading the actual novel in high school.
After the play, Mr. Kagami the club advisor shows up and presents a large bouquet to everyone. Fumi, who was rushing to bring her own bouquet to Yasuko, comes in just in time to see Yasuko crying. The tears starting falling after a very short, but meaning-laden, exchange of words between Kagami and Sugimoto. Afterward, Fumi and Yasuko have a little chat outside, where Fumi says that she's figured it out: Yasuko has someone else that she loves. Yasuko offers to say who it is, but Fumi declines to ask. Yasuko then says that it is in the past. We can figure out who it was she is talking about.
This show seems to prefer to imply a lot of the relationship dynamics, and that's fine. It is pretty clear what is going on.
In Summary:
Aoihana continues to build very slowly, with small pieces of Yasuko's past being revealed only a very slight amount at a time. What has been strongly hinted for about 3 episodes now is confirmed, though again in only an indirect and very subtle way. Yasuko and Fumi's relationship continues to move forward, ever so slowly as well. The pacing is very languid, but perhaps that is for the best, as this show is more like savoring a delicate cup of green tea rather than chugging down a soda. For those who enjoy slow paced slice of life romances of the yuri variety, this will be just the thing for you. If not, there are other shows that might be more your thing.
