The Animation Picture Company has optioned the rights to the best selling video game series, SPYRO THE DRAGON, says Variety. This upcoming film will be based around the latest LEGEND OF SPYRO trilogy, not the earlier versions of the purple dragon. Steve and Dan Altiere are handling the screenplay while APC's Dan Chuba, John Davis, Mark Dippe, Brian Manis and Ash Shah produce it.

No word yet whether Legend voice-actors Elijah Wood (Spyro), Gary Oldman (Ignitus) or David Spade (Sparx) will be returning to voice the characters in this film adaptation. The film will be shot in CG-animation using 3-D technology.
