VARIETY reports a successful initial run for the inaugural IMAX DMR conversion project, Universal/Imagine's APOLLO 13, directed by Ron Howard, and starring Tom Hanks. Following an opening weekend revenue report of $200,625, sales continued strongly through last weekend bringing the total to $456,534, with an average revenue per screen of just over $10,000.

Universal's Nikki Rocco called the film's performance "beyond anyone's expectations."

The film, originally released in 1995, dramatizes the story of the ill-starred moon mission after which it is named.
