Nozomi Entertainment has done what few other companies do and actually announced a delay of a release instead of just notifying retailers. They've rescheduled the release of the ARIA The ORIGINATION DVD Collection to March 16, 2010 from its original March 2, 2010 release date.
"The two-week shift was caused by manufacturing delays," said Right Stuf President and C.E.O. Shawne Kleckner. He continued, “We know ARIA fans have been waiting patiently for the series’ concluding OVA and third season, and we look forward to bringing it to you, albeit slightly later than we originally intended.”
The first three series have been fully reviewed here at Mania with the first season being awarded the Best DVD Release of 2008 by the readers.
The ARIA The ORIGINATION DVD Collection will contain the 13 episodes and the DVD-only bonus episode that comprise the ARIA anime’s third and final television season, plus The OVA ~ARIETTA~. ARIA The ANIMATION (Season 1) and ARIA The NATURAL (Season 2) are currently available on DVD from Right Stuf’s Nozomi Entertainment.
Based on Kozue Amano’s best-selling ARIA manga, the ARIA anime consists of three television seasons – ARIA The ANIMATION, ARIA The NATURAL and ARIA The ORIGINATION – plus an OVA (original video animation). The entire anime adaptation features direction by Junichi Sato (Princess Tutu, Sgt. Frog, Sailor Moon/Sailor Moon R) and animation by Hal Film Maker (Boys Be…, Pretear, Slayers Premium, Sketchbook ~full color’S~).
Amano’s 12-volume ARIA manga and its two-volume prequel, AQUA, are both published in North America by TOKYOPOP. In Japan, the ARIA manga was originally serialized in MAG Garden’s Comic Blade magazine.
