Hail to the four-color king, baby

Newsarama reports that the comic book retailer and collectible firm Dynamic Forces Dynamic Forces has picked up the license for the rights to produce merchandise based on ARMY OF DARKNESS, the third film in Sam Raimi's EVIL DEAD trilogy of pictures.

While no items have been announced so far, the company has told Newsarama that they will also be producing ARMY OF DARKNESS comic books.

No creative teams have been announced nor an estimated date of arrival for the comics except that they'll be out sometime next year. The license that Dynamic Forces bought also allow them to make collectible cards, busts, lithographs, wall scrolls, bookends and giclees based on the ARMY OF DARKNESS characters and imagery.

(What the heck is a "giclee"? Well, the word is French and it means "to squirt or spray ink". Most commercial giclees spray thousands of microscopic dots onto the paper, resulting in an image that is hard to discern from original works. And now you know.)
