I haven't gotten into this series, but it kind of bothers me that they appropriated the Teen Titan's arch nemesis, Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke The Terminator.  Between Bullseye and Merlyn, Green Arrow didn't have a big enough rogues gallery that they had to make it seem like Deathstroke is an arch nemesis of Green Arrow?  I guess in a way it's good because it's like Deathstroke outgrew the Titans, but it just seems wrong to me.

I think you're spot on again in your review; however, I would personally up the rating as the good in the episode far out weighed the minor quibbles. I did like the look on Oliver's face when his mom hugged him. So they were showing that he still had the after effects of the wound, but yeah, it is a little much that he was up and walking around.

Goldeneyze..as far as Deathstroke being a TT villain, I think he's become sort of like Deadpool or the Punisher and other villains who became so popular that they actually become heroes or anti heroes.  It will be interesting to see how they use him

Oliver and Slade went at each other in the comics during the Identity Crisis when Oliver stuck an arrow into Slade's blind eye.  This led up to a story line in Green Arrow during DC's Year One event. 

I really enjoyed this episode.  I still think Arrow has some of the best  and dynamic fight scenes on television today.  Although I do think it might be a problem if the flashbacks are more interesting than the main story. 

Spoiler Alert...

The introduction of Shado has really peaked my interest.  I keep waiting( and dreading) the Laurel and Ollie fall in love again story thread, but with Shado as part of the narative, maybe Laurel is not the destined love interest.

I loved this episode.  I have enjoyed the island backstory more than anything else in this series.  However, there is one issue with the island that I can't stand... and that is Ollie's super-fake terribly bad hairdo.  I get that they need to do something with his hair, but that's just bad.

So is Commissioner Gordon (um, I mean Detective Lance) the only cop in Gotham (um, I mean Star, no I mean Starling) City?  He spends more time at the Queen mansion than Ollie does.

I am guessing Merlyn is the one who hired Fyers.  Pretty good episode though

I have enjoyed this show so far and gotta admit it's funny seeing the similarities between him and Batman. Heck now he even has his own Oracle.

Totally agree Mayhem, as I have said the same thing to myself many times.  This is totally a Batman show wannabe.  And you know what?  There's nothing wrong with that.  I can't wait until they introduce Red Robin (er, I mean Red Arrow) and then watch how he grows into his own as Nightwing (er, I maen Arsenal).  :)

 I really enjoyed this episode alot more then the previous ones.  I think I noticed something nobody else noticed...in the flashbacks Oliver is getting very close to looking like the comic book Oliver Queen (hair, beard I mean).

Note to CW: Please, Please, PLEASE,  if you are going to do anything medical, hire a consultant for the episode! .
