The CW has released a clip from their new series Arrow. This hour long drama is a modern retelling of the legendary DC Comics character the Green Arrow. Stephen Amell stars in the title role. The project, which also counts Paul Blackthorne, Jamey Sheridan, David Ramsey, Colin Donnell, Katie Cassidy and Willa Holland among its cast, hails from pilot season heavyweight Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. David Nutter directed the pilot, which is set up at Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Check out the clip here on the CW.

Not available in my location.  Beauty eh?

You'd think they would've hired the guy who played GA in the Smallville tv show.

Roqueja, its like a training video for the Green Arrow. One moment with the tennis balls is pretty cool.

The Arrow clip has much more of a feel of the Nolan Batman movies than the Smallville use of the character. This is especially so 'cuz the actor looks like Christian Bale. It has the training for vengeance with mad skills montage feel. I can't really say if its going to be good or bad from the clip but of course I will check it out when it hits the air.

The Beauty and the Beast show has a clip on the same page. It looks alot more like a typical CW Vampire Diaries type of show. But, again I will at least look at the first episode to find out, though I have less high hopes.

Well this Arrow show may have some potential. I'll check it out.  I think I like this guy better, he looks more like a grown man and I think this should take place well after Smallville if they tie it into at all. This looks more like what a serious take on the GA. And the guy has quite a frame on him, good core strength. Perfect for a potential ass kicker like Ollie Queen

Beauty & the Beast is just a rehash of the show from the 80's with Linda Hamilton and  Ron pearlman.

Justin Hartley was an awesome green arrow , id love to see him in a more serious role , better writers for the green arrow . NOt sure bout this guy.

I just don't think the green arrow on his own will amount to anything . Unless there were other Justice League Characters brought in. That was always one of smallvilles strengths and made things fun amongst all the stupid lovey dovey stuff.

Anyway whatever we'll have to see.

Last I read they want a real world setting which may be a big part why the guy from Smallville wasn't cast, they want to distance themselves from that world.

Color me interested. Although I'm a bit worried because they're also distancing themselves from the comics according to their words.

Beauty and the Beast looks terrible. I cringe everytime I see Kreuk and she's supposed to be the beauty

American Ninja Arrow...... I'm pretty sure by the time he shot all those arrows, those tennis balls would be rolling instead of bouncing.... just saying if we're shooting for "real world".

More action, less drama please

Also be clever and bring in the boxing glove, exploding and net arrows

BlatchSkree 5/17/2012 5:04:28 PM

Arrow actually looks pretty good from the clip. I will give it a shot. (pun intended)

I also watched the Emily Owens, MD clip and nearly threw up. The absolute tripe that the CW puts on astounds me. If Justin Hartley wants to distance himself from the Green Arrow he is going about it the wrong way. He's wearing glasses, is he trying to be Clark Kent. CW = fail
