Earlier in the week we saw the first official clip for the pilot of Arrow. A trailer for the series based on the DC Comics’ character the Green Arrow has surfaced on Youtube. The trailer reveals that it keeps the character close to his roots yet has a lot of influence from Christopher Nolan’s Batmans.

Plot: The hour long drama is a modern retelling of the legendary DC Comics character the Green Arrow. Stephen Amell stars in the title role. The project, which also counts Paul Blackthorne, Jamey Sheridan, David Ramsey, Colin Donnell, Katie Cassidy and Willa Holland among its cast, hails from pilot season heavyweight Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. David Nutter directed the pilot, which is set up at Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

 Looks good...

We just need Dinah in some fishnets and I'm there.

millean 5/19/2012 11:24:45 AM

Yes, it does.  I'm quite surprsed.

How awesome would it be if the island he escaped from was the one from LOST.  (Just started rewatching some of those episodes - man that was a good show).

It looks good. That dude looks like the new Spartacus. I hope that they introduce other DC characters into the story. Hopefully they have learned something  from Marvel.

Shame they couldn't actually bring themselves to call it GREEN ARROW!

BunyonSnipe 5/19/2012 2:12:02 PM

Looks great, one quibble though...

Maybe a MASK might help him keep his secret!

millean 5/19/2012 3:07:21 PM

Yeah, dude needs a mask.  Now if I were to become a vigilante, nobody would know who the hell I was.  Of course, I'm not a billonaire CEO who miraculously return from a deserted desert isle (after a 3 hour cruise).

Ok, I'm hooked.

Just one little thing. If the producers are going to keep the show in the same vain as Nolan's Batman trilogy, then doesn't that mean we won't be seeing villians with super powers?

monkeyfoot 5/19/2012 7:50:17 PM

It quite literally looks like a TV version of Batman Begins. I'm not sure if I like that but I understand that is a good way to go, especially if you don't want it to look like the Smallville Green Arrow.

I will, of course watch it to see how well it does its version.

Don't get the subtle changes ... why Arrow and not Green Arrow ... why Starling and not Star City ... why go out of their way to annoy the fan base with sucfh meaningless changes?

Other than that ... looks pretty good!
