With Liam Neeson locked in to play John "Hannibal" Smith and Bradley Cooper set to fill the shoes of Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck in Joe Carnahan's The A-Team, the current question on a lot of minds is who exactly will be selected to take over the role of B.A. Baracus, the iconic tough guy previously played by Mr. T.

Previous rumors had Common, Ice Cube and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson set to fill those shoes but the latest information says 20th Century Fox may be moving in a different direction.

BlackFilm.com has learned that rapper The Game is being considered a frontrunner for the B.A. role after his Street Kings co-star Common may have taken himself out of contention due to overlapping production schedules. His current film, Just Right, shoot runs through August which is said to be the production launch date for director Joe Carnahan.

Joe is directing the adaptation of the 80's television series, based on a screenplay that he co-wrote with Brian Bloom, Skip Woods, Michael Brandt and Derek Haas. Stephen J. Cannell, who created the show, will produce the movie with Jules Daly, Ridley Scott, with Tony Scott executive producing through their Scott Free banner.

Plot Concept: The story will use the original premise of the series as the template for an action film. In the original, four Vietnam vets convicted of armed robbery escape from military prison and became do-gooder mercenaries. The Middle East will replace Vietnam as the place the four did their tour of duty, but Carnahan said the origin story is the jumping-off point.

The original series, which ran from 1983-87 and starred George Peppard, Mr. T, Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz, followed an unofficial team of Vietnam vets who will stop at nothing to get the bad guys. Sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit, these four commandos escaped from a maximum-security stockade and now survive in the Los Angeles underground as soldiers of fortune.

The A-Team will hit theaters June 11, 2010.

Hmm might work...but i think Ice Cube has the right build for the part.

Hmm, I don't know. I mean he can play angry black man okay, but his mannerisms don't seem to lend to the character of B.A. where to me Common does or Terry Crews.

Actually when I read the title I thought that they were casting Triple H in the A-team. Saying that, he should get a part in Thor. Not a big role, but at least as an Asgardian or Frost Giant. He has that look.

Nothing good to say so for once I'm keeping my mouth shut otherwise I'll have to fuck something up

OK, I'll say it: Forget these lousy rappers & wannabe actors. Get the original wanna be actor and use Mr. T.

I definitely dont see Game emulating Mr. T. But come to think of it.... i dont think ANYONE can do Mr. T justice. So i think they're gonna change B.A. Baraccus in a new angry black man way. Besides.. the Game is TIGHT YO!! He better bulk the FUk up tho, so he can be swoll as me. hehe.

Just what the planet needs.  Another bad movie remake of a mediocre 25 year old TV series.

Wake me up when they start casting Green Acres the movie.

Hopefully, the Dodgers tat will be airbrushed out. I'm guessing BA's a White Sox fan but maybe the Cubs...And because it looks lame...

How do you know it's another bad movie remake?  Joe Carnahan is directing, that guy was money with Narc and Smokin Aces was cool.
