AVATAR on Blu-ray presents the ultimate high definition experience for home viewing audiences. Fans around the world will soon be able to discover every detail and relive every moment of James Cameron’s AVATAR in the comfort of their own home. Blu-ray is recognized for presenting optimal picture and sound, and now AVATAR’s masterful cinematography, art direction and visual effects will lend itself to awe-inspiring clarity when you become absorbed in the extraordinary all-encompassing experience in the living room.
Since its global theatrical release last December, AVATAR has continued to make motion picture history. Written by James Cameron and produced with his long-time collaborator Jon Landau, AVATAR stars Sam Worthington, Zoë Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Wes Studi and Laz Alonso.

I guess James Cameron was wrong....didn't he say he expected another theatrical run to pull in "a few hundred million" that were left on the table, then a fall DVD release?
That was referring to a 3D release on Blu-ray, WarCry. Fox and Cameron are holding off any 3D release on Blu or DVD for that reason. Just in case they want to re-release it in theaters this fall.
The regular Blu-ray or DVD will still ship April 22nd.
This stinks of HUGE MASSIVE GREEDY A*S DOUBLE DIPPING!!! Screw that. We should all wait for the super gold dirrctor's extended cut edition! Anything else is f*cked.
Just like the Blu Ray release of Lord of the Rings that is ONLY in the thetrical eversion. Screw them with a brick!
No extras, no interest. I can do without 3-D but I want extras on my blu-ray or else I move on.
Does it say it won't have extras? I'll be happy with this. Didn't see it in 3D and won't buy it in 3D so hopefully it has extras. Maybe I'll rent the extended one they turn out someday and we kow they will, but I think the story is good and I'll be getting it.
As for LOTR though I am right there with you AXIA777. I will hold out for the extended. That's a load of crap what they are doing with that.
ill buy this copy to hold me over to when the delexe version comes out. Im sure this copy will be very cheap to buy on DVD . I know when the extended version will come out ,Ill buy it on BLUERAY . they made enough money on this movie , they shouldnt rape us on many verisons like LOTRS.
It's funny that we all would get mad over something we have control over. If you want to wait...just wait, and don't buy the early release! Kick it oldschool and just rent the damn thing until they release the one you really want to own.
Seriously, this soon? Avatar was still in the top five as of this past weekend in theatres. A home video release next month is extremely premature.
