As we posted on the Avatar photo release on the weekend, we are aware the first teaser trailer will be arriving later this week to coincide with this Friday's Avatar Day. And now you are too, unless you're living under a rock somewhere.
Apple has a clock ticking at this moment on their website and when that clock hits the zero mark, fans can check out the first teaser trailer for James Cameron's highly-anticipated sci-fi epic, Avatar.
According to the clock the trailer will premiere online at 7:00 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, August 20, 2009. When the clock hits zero we'll update this piece.
The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang and Matt Gerald.
Plot Concept: "Avatar" is the story of an ex-Marine (Worthington) who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people.
Avatar will hit theaters December 18, 2009.

Oh yes, this will ROCK! After this one do you reckon he'll declare himself king of the universe?

I will not judge until I see trailer. However I do have High Hopes.
And yes the Avengers trailer will be awesome to see along with Captain America. Some day.
I don't think we can start comparing films that aren't even in pre-production yet, but yes, once The Avengers hits the world can end and I'll be ok with that
Haha. Yet another story that has nothing to do with The Avengers whose postings end up talking about The Avengers anyway. Fun Stuff. It will either be the most disappointing or most satisfying film in decades.
WTF!? A teaser trailer? Why the hell isn't it a full blown trailer? The cat is dropping 15 mins of footage the next day. Give us a full trailer you water loving bastard.
On the other hand, if the teaser trailer is half as good as The Dark Knight teaser, then it will be ownage.
This is what I'm thinking and since I AM WISEGUY you should be thinking it too :) The trailer according to avatar's official site is set to debut on the 21st. So it's possible that the teaser trailer is just that while the full trailer will debut on the 21st as the site claims
I will wait till I see it but looking at past Cameron "teasers" there isn't much to it. Don't see why this would be any different. I agree if he is showing all that footage why not make a full blown trailer.
