WB Decides to Reboot Darker SUPERMAN - Aug 22, 2008 - 09:11pm
Jarrod my man, how do we stop this? A brooding guy in blue tights and a red cape? WTF? Quote me on this: BIG MISTAKE OTHER GREAT BROODING HEROES: Daredevil, Punisher (Dolph's and Jane's), Petey Parker (1 and 2 great in spite of McGuire), Norton's lame Banner, Bana's lamer Banner, Blade 2 and 3... Does anybody else get tired of these guys sulking around? What will the Justice League Movie be called? Oh wait- Superhero, Interupted: A group of dissafected superheroes struggle to find love, happiness, and stability in a world turned upside down by an oppressive, conservative supervillian. Bring on the blond highlights and hair jelly! I loved Superman Returns and thought it was a great foundation for a new franchise. Once again, the Marvel properties prove superior to those of DC thoough the opposite is really true. BRING ON ANTMAN!

The Manic Maniac: Superman vs. Everybody - Aug 21, 2008 - 06:48am
I did not realize I was in such a minority. The earliest memories of my childhood are going to watch the original Superman. Now I play it for my own children and was happy to bring them to Superman Returns. It was so true to the original two films. Brandon Routh channeled Christopher Reeves as both Kent and Supes. He was filling some big shoes and did well. The sequence of saving the shuttle and stopping the plane crash is classic Superman. I liked the second Superman even better. Zod and his crew were great enemies. I look forward to a powerful adversary, hopefully Doomsday -something not so easy to do back in the day. Spacey as Luthor and a competent CGI supervillian will enhance this franchise. The brooding, conflicted superhero gets old, like everything else, too. We are all so jaded. Do we need everyone of our fictional heroes the same? I'll take Charles Bronson's vigilante over most super heroes anyday. There is a goodness in Superman that is just a important as any revenge/redemption motive out there.

Lucas Denies Shia Taking over INDY - Aug 08, 2008 - 10:12pm
Hell, it was a OK movie. I saw it once and a half, the second time as the second feature at the drive-in and I was just too tired to stay. I loved the beginning and felt less and less interested as it went on. Could have cared less about "Mutt." It reminded me of when they added the red head kid to different strokes when arnold got a stache. Cool to see Indy, but I would have rather seen him chasing Nazi's in South America -like maybe Mengele had some supernatural plan (Boys from Brazil meets Raiders).
