GREEN LANTERN to roll in Spring - Oct 03, 2008 - 06:16pm
ZOTLIVES
The name of the show I believe was called Legend of the Heroes or something like that. It was awful. Live action very dated...look it up on you tube.
Sci-Fi Picks Up WAREHOUSE 13 - Sep 19, 2008 - 09:02am
Let's hope the life they save somehow incorporates a reboot of the Millard Fillmore administration or a modern re-imagining of the Warren Harding salad days. Genre T.V. at it's best !
Toy Maniac: Star Wars, Nothing But Star Wars - Sep 11, 2008 - 05:21pm
I love Star Wars, too...
But come on, how awesome is the prospect of an "unlockable" Bob Barker...Wii rocks
The Manic Maniac: Obamamania, Matrix-Style - Aug 31, 2008 - 03:48am
So... here it is.
Hell comes to Mania. Where to start?
Ok, I don't expect Obiden to explain how he is going to accomplish everything in three hours because in all honesty he has had a year and a half to do so and the best he could muster is maybe two dozen or so clever bumper sticker statements. Clever.
I definitely see the oldschool dems as the Architect, Bill and Hill could be the Twins from the second movie. However, Obysmal (like we saw Neo realize at the end of the first film) is more like Agent Smith. Nothing more then a spruced up empty suit. A disappointingly by-the-numbers program with a litany of complaints regarding the world around him. Who doesn't like whine with their cheese?
I argue that Obama-Where-Art-Thou is more akin to Smith, as soon as someone gets under his skin or behind his facade, he explodes.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a real fan of Old Man Logan--er McCain, but these deified personifications of our guy Barry are absolutely ludicrous. This site is a haven for those wishing to step out of the real world for a little while, catch up on genre news and the like. This kind of fantasizing over the Big-O is really kind of creepy though.
I miss the days when we talked about was how much fun Tom Arnold had in all those bygone films, or how Uwe Boll tried to pass off disemboweling one game-to-film adaptation after another as "being a movie director". Le Sigh.
Cast Set for Spoof AWESOMEST MAXIMUS - Aug 27, 2008 - 11:57pm
After this movie is made, Mel Brooks will "re-imagine" it as a musical on Broadway, then he will remake it as a movie.
Raimi Has Another Superhero in TRANSPLANTS - Jul 31, 2008 - 02:50pm
I hope one of the quadrants is the Delta Quadrant. The Hirogen haven't had a lot of work as of late.
THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE - Jul 24, 2008 - 06:31pm
I don't know about this movie. The end of the series left me so frosted that it's about taken me this long to want to revisit it.
I am all about second chances, just hoping I don't walk out of the theater calling the movie "X-Files: I Want to Bereave".
Meh.
PS What is this whole "Dark Knight" thing I am hearing about?
Top 10 Worst Shows That Need a Remake - May 22, 2008 - 05:11am
Manimal star Simon MacCorkindale went on to star in the critically acclaimed Jaws 3D. - Isn't "critically acclaimed" for Jaws 3d...a bit strong of a phrase when describing that movie?
21 Doubles Down at the Box Office. - Apr 06, 2008 - 04:14pm
No mention on Stop-Loss? Wasn't that supposed to come out this weekend as well?
Latest Trailer for IRON MAN - Feb 29, 2008 - 01:37am

STAR TREK Pushed to May 2009 - Feb 14, 2008 - 02:24am
#6.
"Wow a summer movie release for a Star Trek film. When was the last time a ST movie came out in any other month than Nov-Dec? I can remeber all the way back to ST:6, not sure if too many of them have had this kind of opportunity to make alot of cash."
I think ST:5 came out in summer of 89 if not mistaken...before Batman came out. May-ish I believe.
Paramount Confirms CLOVERFIELD 2 - Jan 31, 2008 - 12:51am
Leave Mecha-Cloverfield alone ! ;) lol.
Just kidding. Hate if you must I thought the first CF rocked, just hope the sequel isn't a Blair Witch 2 type of deal. Ugh. Sometimes less is more.
The Top 10 Worst Genre Films of All Time - Dec 11, 2007 - 04:29am
Hmm...glaring inconsistency on the part of the writer as Uwe Boll's masterpieces never made the list yet SW3:ROTS is on there?!
Worst "of all time list" of all time, with the exception of that William Gibson crapfest...How come Robocop 3 gets a pass?
HEROES & CLOVERFIELD Cross Over - Nov 21, 2007 - 11:01am
Hmmm...Could the monster be Uluru? How cool would that kind of cross over be considering Elle's love of Slusho brand beverages...comments?
Kring Apologizes to HEROES Fans - Nov 08, 2007 - 05:07am
Mr. Kring,
As I am one of the "public" who helped to put Mr. Bush in office, I feel the need to speak out on behalf of my bretheren and say that we too appreciate your build-up this season.
I think it more appropriate to ask you not to yield to the fanboys, who feel that "if it isn't The Empire Strikes Back or BSG it's crap".
Please continue with your creation and development of some of the best characters in genre television and tell the story YOU want to tell, not what you think certain demographics want to see. It was that type of forward thinking and storytelling that gave us season 1, and I eagerly anticipate your future installments with the program.
Thank you.
HEROES: Fight or Flight - Oct 24, 2007 - 01:18am
Things are heating up for the Heroes, and for a genre show, they handle the issues raised in a more mature manner then most of the nonsense on T.V.
First, I do empathize with many who wonder why we should be skeptical of a build-up or hype for an episode that may only dissapoint? I have been talking with a cohort who feels NBC does its darndest to really set people up for revelations that aren't necessarily "there" in some of the episodes ("whats inside the box" being a most recent example).
As for the writing, Mudfeld above me made many points, and while I agree that this was one of the better episodes of the season as we get an idea as to Matt's dad and all that.
I think it has been the show's greatest strength that during a period in our history where cheap shots and soon-to-be-dated references to real world political figures may tickle the fancy of some, the rest of us find it refreshing that the writer's express themselves the way that they do. It adds a more 'timeless' feel to the story and while it may upset some (see above) that for one time the "Bush Administration" (said with all the appropriate thunder and background crying of babies to satiate the needs of some) is NOT blamed as a villain and that maybe people would rather dream of a better life by making it happen for themselves (Micah's cousin).
Heroes has always been a show about embracing our connection to each other, looking forward and learning to understand the past, not illustrating single minded partisan politics. But most importantly it is entertainment; entertainment that thankfully sidesteps many of the cliches that riddle much of modern television and seems to have better sense then to give in to what seems to have become the norm on lesser programs.
Kudos to the writers for that.
I for one believe the handling of the "Katrina" aftermath is being handled well, it is not glib, nor is it preachy about how needy micah's family is to better its outlook. Just my opinion, althought I agree; one of the best episodes this season.
Keep 'em coming.
Saldana Confirmed as Uhura in STAR TREK - Sep 18, 2007 - 05:27pm
I thought Rosie O'Donnell would have snagged this part for sure, well maybe they're casting for the redesigned 'Enterprise'.
Bill Nighy in HALF BLOOD PRINCE? - Jul 13, 2007 - 10:28am
He looks like Vincent Price or Peter Cushing, I dig the energy he (Nighy) puts into his characters...
BATMAN/SUPERMAN Action Figure - Jun 21, 2007 - 04:42am
I hear Joel Schumacher is looking to direct the origin reboot movie about this character...2012 can't come to save us all quickly enough...
CBS Orders Seven More for JERICHO - Jun 08, 2007 - 11:35am
My lack of understanding here may be getting in the way but here is a question...
Why is it that if there are enough people to get the show back on the air, it would need more viewers?
Did CBS just give in to the fans? Or do they really think Jericho can pull off a comeback?
New TRANSFORMERS Trailer - May 18, 2007 - 02:22am
Narrator's voice...
"In a world where genre fans enjoy nothing but criticism..."
Eh, nevermind. This isn't the second coming of Christ people, it's a Transformers movie (I.E. big explosions, robots). It looks pretty sweet to me considering the subject matter.
Now class, let's try to enjoy.
"Dead Rising" will spawn sequels - Jan 16, 2007 - 08:10am
Indeed this is good news. Love the game. Maybe they could get David Boreanz to play Frank West in the movie version...
Michelle Williams joins THE TOURIST - Oct 03, 2006 - 06:30am
"and do us all a solid.... don't respond to what I just posted with a lame gay joke, Tom Arnold reference, or even lamer rant about how your going to beat me up... I don't have the time or the energy. All I'm saying is either be funny or contribute something, and face it brother.... you are doing neither."
Right on. I think we should all take his (JD's) rants as a cry for help, maybe being the "middle child" has caught up with him...
SPIDER-MAN isn't going anywhere - Aug 28, 2006 - 07:47am
"Leave it at the trilogy, cause what movies that you know of had a GREAT 4th act."
Indy...err wait a minute...
;)
TRANSFORMERS announcement in just hours! - Aug 18, 2006 - 02:05pm
Scorponok? Schwwwweeeeeet. I hope Megatron is still a Walter PPk and not a tank when he transforms...
George Clooney in PET SEMATARY? - Aug 02, 2006 - 09:31am
Someone should tell Mr. Clooney that the novel was based on "pets" being resurrected, not "fading careers"...
Julian McMahon returning to FANTASTIC FOUR sequel - Jul 28, 2006 - 07:22am
Fantastic Four was a great film. The effects, acting, and story molded together into an orchestrated tale of heroism and bravery.
My only critique is that Meryl Streep should have played the role of Dr. Doom. Maybe they are casting her for Galactus (fingers crossed)...
TMNT trailer hits web - Jul 22, 2006 - 11:02pm
Is it me or do they look more like Teenage Mutant Ninja Frogs...?
HALO has a new screenwriter - Jul 17, 2006 - 06:30am
err..I meant "that it has all of this trouble", sorry for the 2nd posting...
HALO has a new screenwriter - Jul 17, 2006 - 06:29am
Hmmm...seeing as how this is a film based on a Microsoft product, would it be that surprising that it be has all of this trouble before ultimately crashing?
Unaltered STAR WARS TRILOGY on DVD - May 05, 2006 - 01:34pm
...and when they are finally realised, I would have imagined more people would sound-off with a little more gratitude...wow nothing is ever good enough it seems...maybe we should tell George not to release them.
There is nothing worse then cranky fanboys bemoaning the product of their own ceaseless bitching.
RV Cruises to Top of Weekend B.O. - May 01, 2006 - 06:25pm
Give Hillary C. a shot at directing and maybe her version will show the entire event as though nothing ever happened...
ZOTLIVES The name of the show I believe was called Legend of the Heroes or something like that. It was awful. Live action very dated...look it up on you tube.
