Sounds way better than the first movie. But I hoped for a story setting on another planet in the far future. With spaceships, perhaps a lonely asteroid researchbase or something... Dream on alphan!

That's some good stuff ctrylife. Although I liked the idea and the look of the first AvP, this one sound more entertaining and with more possibilities.

I do not remember this PreAlien hybrid int he first one. In would have preferred another planet as well. I liked the first one and looking forward to this next one.

One of the important things about the Aliens franchise was that subconscious fear of the Aliens actually ever making it to Earth. Then, AvP comes out and all of the sudden there they are, on our planet, no big deal, and all of the fears that Ripley had (in the future) of this horrible creature loose on Earth - and all the trouble she went to stopping it - are made to seem less important. Damn AvP! I’m with alphan. This should have always been on another colony out in space and in the “near future”. Save the inevitable Aliens arrival on Earth for a MAJOR cinematic event!

They need to add the space marines like the video game where you can either be the alien/predator/or marine. Have just a sick all out battle. Aliens was the best movie out of the whole franchise. I wish to hell they didn't kill off hudson/drake/and hicks.

The fear of the alien getting back to earth was in Aliens and Alien 3, as well. It was a main plot-line in Aliens -- Burke locking Ripley and Newt in a room with a face-hugger, etc. Hell, it's why Ripley killed herself in 3. Yes, AvP tried to RetCon it all, but half-heartedly, at best. AvP had some (mild) entertainment value as a generic monster v. monster flick... but I think most fans of either the Alien or the Predator franchise hated it because it was so completely unfaithful to both... it was just one big pile of steaming wasted opportunity. And I agree... bring back the Space Marines!!!

If I had my way an Alien Versus Predator movie would take place around the time of Aliens, and the humans involved would be a team of Colonial Marines that were sent in to deal with a problem on a developing mining station in some far-flung Company world, on which, of course, they would meet and have to stand against a battle between Aliens and Predators. Either that, or I'd have no humans at all. Jut an alien world, no dialogue, and all action.

triggerleo... this board is for discussing movie and entertainment news. Ponyboy and everybody else here has every right to give their opinions. If you disagree, say so. If all you can do is insult other posters, shut up -- or go over to the AARP website and b!tch about social security with your peers.
