The Sci-Fi Channel is putting the breaks on its planned talk show starring one of the genre's best known fans, Dan Aykroyd (GHOSTBUSTERS).
According to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, Aykroyd's show, DAN AYKROYD'S OUT THERE, was to have been a round table talk show centering on paranormal phenomena. Aykroyd's interest in the subject has been known for years, and inspired the GHOSTBUSTERS series. He and his crew had been taping OUT THERE for three weeks before the word came down.
According to Sci-Fi Channel president Bonnie Hammer, "It's not going to go as originally constructed. We're just trying to find out what's the right format. Should it be a strip? Should it be once a week? And how does this concept work best with his (Aykroyd's) talent?"
The show was supposed to premiere this spring.
