Aykroyd talks Ghostbusters 3

Well what's the story?

By Robert T. Trate     July 02, 2012

Dan Aykroyd greeted fans and signed autographs while promoting his award winning Crystal Head Vodka.
While there, Aykroyd also answered our questions about plans for the highly anticipated third installment of Ghostbusters.
"We've got a new writing staff working on it now," Aykroyd said. "It's got to be prefect. That's the whole thing. There's no point in doing it unless it's perfect. So that's what we're up to now."

Check out the interview below. What do you think Maniacs? Is a third chapter in the franchise really necessary?

Thanks to jacobjoseph for the submission.

Ho hum.  Heard this, been there.  Never going to happen.

Holy crap am I tired of hearing about Ghostbusters 3. Let the damn thing die already and move on to something of interest. This every 4 or 5 months surfacing with "we are working on a new script" crap is so old. Heck Mania, why not just go back to your top 10 lists again?!

Just watched the orginal again the other night.  Still a classic.  I couldn't make it through half of the second film.  I think leave well enough alone.  Let the next generation create their classic.

It better be perfect if they want Bill Murray back lol

Wiseguy 7/2/2012 6:23:31 AM

Still only vaguely interested. As much as I liked the first film still ambivalent about anymore sequels

Wiseguy 7/2/2012 6:24:32 AM

Feel a bit sorry for Dan, seems like his whole career or what's left of it appears to be hanging by a thread based solely on this sequel

InnerSanctum 7/2/2012 6:36:03 AM

I wouldn't feel too sorry for Dan.  He is a multimillionaire who has his hands in many things outside of the entertainment industry (cigars, music, vodka.)  To even have one moment in a film is an accomplishment.  The fact that he had years of success in film/TV is more than enough for one person in their lifetime.  There are so many more out there that will never make it to that level.  Your superstar status clock ticks away...even for Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.  Making a career out of acting is nothing short of a miracle.  Obviously, it is not alwyas talent.

He gets asked every time about Ghostbusters 3.  Sounds to me like he just has a standard answer to brush the question off.

Wiseguy 7/2/2012 6:52:06 AM

OK now I don't feel so bad. Just that on the movie sites it appears that's all he's got  going on. Good for him if that's not the case. Hate to see him go through a real life Trading Places

InnerSanctum 7/2/2012 7:10:45 AM

Ha.  Wish there was a "like" button on this thing.
