"The slasher genre is dead and right now psychological horror is all the rage," says CINESCAPE columnist and producer/co-writer of the forthcoming HOUSE OF THE DEAD feature film Mark A. Altman. "It's time for a good zombie movie. There hasn't been one in a long time and I think ours will be it. It's going to be scary and a lot of fun and fans of the game will not be disappointed."
Loosely based on two popular "first-person shooters" from arcade master Sega, the first HOUSE OF THE DEAD video game tells the story of a clandestine laboratory conducting experiments on bio-engineered life forms. When a group of researchers goes missing, a team of special operatives (AMS agents) is dispatched to investigate. What it finds are your stereotypical brain-eating zombies running wild in an experiment gone awry.
