Bring him back! Best Batman yet (other than Michael Keaton, but that time is over) Their battle will probably take place somewhere in the middle of the movie. Maybe a reference to Worlds Finest somewhere towards the end. It would be smart for WB to get Bale back with him being the most recent Batman, and being part of one of the most successful trilogies of this decade

Why couldn't Bale's Batman create the voice thing Green Arrow had in Smallville.

They need Bale for this, dont reboot Batman in this sequel.  Or maybe they should, I dont know.

It still feels so rushed....

From a cold, logical perspective the presence of Bale in this movie guarantees a colossal opening. I don't know about 50 million upfront though.  I'd spin Bale a piece of the movie profit (and future movies in which he participates).  They could sign him up for Batman/Superman (2015) and Justice League (2017, probably the next appearance of Batman) with such a deal.  If Justice League is a world-wide hit, then Bale would essentially be in a similar spot as RDJ was after Iron Man 3.  If the Justice League is established, that would be the first opportunity to recast Batman for Justice League 2 or the next Batman solo movie (2019). However, at that point, Bale would be 45 years old.  He'd probably be sick of Batman (again!) by that time but he could have any dream project he wants greenlit by WB.  Plus, they would dangle another 50 million in front of him to restart the Bat franchise and appear in Justice League 2.  We're talking 100 million dollars and artistic freedom for four movies.  That's a lot to walk away from.  Just ask RDJ.

Apology accepted, Darth.  Lol!  But yeah, I would've preferred the voice he actually did himself that was on display in the original cut of the opening scene they released before the movie opened.  It was a little difficult to understand in parts, but it wasn't altered and it was more realistic considering dude was wearing a mask that covered his mouth and most of his face.

Okay I am going to chime this up since the level of geek/nerd obsession has become intolerable.

First let us put this very simply, this is a bad idea. Period. Okay? Get it kids, dumb dumb dumb.

Let's recap from the last movie.

Wayne - presumed dead and has no assets left for the most part

Alfred - retired and touring the European country side with a nice nest egg.

Wayne Manor - now an orphanage belonging to the city

"Robin" - some a-hole cop with NO training or technical skill to operate all the equipment in the cave, or resources to maintain it

Fox - Now holds controlling interest in Wayne Tech, which by realistic standards, this company would have been bought, torn down and liquidated by now given the gross levels of mismanagment.

So then tell me again how ANYONE creatively writes this so it has even a slight chance at being plausible for Bale to return as Bats? Or more importantly, how the Nolan Bat verse even WORKS in this world.

Also remember they pulled heavy from the Dark Knight Returns novel for this, having a Bats/Supes battle from that now would be out of place.

WB if it wants to be smart, (not really their thing), would do a SOLO Batman film first, no origin story and have the end of it being the news footage of the alien in Metropolis.

The story could introduce a new villian for Bats to deal with, personally I like Zsasz and Lady Shiva.

Story writes itself. While trying to track down the serial killer known as Zsasz Batman encounters a visitor to Gotham city. One whose sole purpose is to duel Batman in a test of fighting prowess.

There are SO many good idea's to start with. Again as I said before, just bring the animated version of World's Finest to the screen, then follow it up with the Justice League pilot. It works.

Yeah, I kinda agree, lazarus...WB pretty much let Nolan ruin his Bat franchise for continuation.

ElBaz13 8/19/2013 5:02:15 AM

Agree Laz.

I think that's what the diehard Nolanites who want this are not seeing the big picture.

Say they use Bale's Batman in MOS2 and JL, it will pretty much discredit all of that Nolan did in his Batman trilogy by rewriting everything.

That is why I still think this rumour is bogus.

It's just taken from that Ebook from Vincent Russel and it's his quote:

"'Why would Christian Bale walk away from what is certainly going to be either the first or second highest grossing movie in the history of cinema," he asked, when the subject of Justice League was raised. ... 'He could probably make $50 million for being in the movie 20 minutes,' my friend observed. 'And it would be worth every penny to the studio.' ...

So it's not like Bale was offered this. It was just implied by this guy.

I concure what Laz just posted.  Which was AWESOME.  Bale is done, give it the f*ck up all ready.

TheStormrider 8/19/2013 1:51:49 PM

Keaton said he would do it for a million and some platform shoes.

Kraks 8/22/2013 6:56:41 PM

You can all begin crying now, as Ben Affleck has been cast.

I'm already committed to boycotting this whale turd.
