I can't say this latest report is very surprising. After all, Christian Bale is playing the leading hero John Connor and it would seem obvious that his character would be a part of all three films in the upcoming Terminator Salvation trilogy. Still, it's worth passing along a confirmation that he is signed for three films. Here's the latest from the BBC.
The Welsh-born star, who is soon to be seen in Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight, has already started shooting the first of those films, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
"He's really an actor's actor, so we're very proud," said Victor Kubicek of film company Halcyon.
"Christian was our first choice and he's a big fan of The Terminator, so we're very lucky," Kubicek told the BBC at the Cannes Film Festival.
"But with Batman he's already done the whole franchise thing, so we weren't sure he'd respond."
Luckily, said Kubicek's business partner Derek Anderson, "he read the script and he loved it, so he's signed on for all three."
The first film of the new trilogy---Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins---will hit theaters May 22, 2009.
I thought this was a done deal already. Anyway is good to know, as John Connor it makes all the sense in the world that he appear in all 3 films. I wonder if this is going to interfere with Batman 3. If he's as prominent as I'm assuming he'll be in all these he's going to be in a tight schedule. All I know is I don't want my Batmans postponed or delayed for Terminator.
Does this mean no more Batman movies for Bale? I don't really need any more Terminator movies, but I guess it would be cool to see how the story ends. Will the last movie show Connor's dad going back in time to save his mom from the first Terminator?
Being a fan of the first two Terminator films I have reservations towards this new film. I can get over the director, fine thats cool, Bale as Connor also, ok. But with a possible PG-13 rating and already starting off saying this is going to be a trilogy I am worried. I mean, wasn't this movie just last week or two weeks ago, postponed? And now its back on?!?
I am looking forward to see what is going to happen with this film but I am in agreement that this better not conflict with Batman3.
Oh, yeah. I would like to know how the Sara Connor Chronicles is going to have an effect on the outcome of this movie and its story.
They should film Ah-nold's cameo now before he gets even older and fatter. The last movie should end with Ah-nold being built and jumping through the portal through time, ala that crapfest EII: Revenge of the Sith!
everybody chill if i am not mistaken bale signed for 3 bats films (i hope he signs for 3 more) so i would just expect to see bale doing terminator and bats and not much if anything else.
Christian Bale has predominantly chosen to star in really great films so for him to sign a three picture deal with Terminator gives me a little more confidence on the franchise. I know, I know, everyone was freaking out with the PG 13 label but if Christian Bale thought the script was good then I'm hoping that the they won't fuck up its filming. Hopefully.
i completely agree with chemikillgod, anyway to choose mickael caine in get carter as logo, already mean s something....I have faith in Bale also, this guy will be one of the best actor of his time. I don t remenber been desapointed with one performance, In shaft he was even better than Jakson !
