No Bale for Justice League

Passing the torch

By Robert T. Trate     July 02, 2013
Source: Entertainment Weekly

Adam Markovitz, recently had a brief interview with Christian Bale about the future of Batman and his involvement with the Justice League Movie. There was little to no chance that Bale was going to appear in a Justice League Movie. Now it seems almost official.

“We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy,” Bale told EW. “Chris [Nolan] always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying ‘We’re about to make the third.’ We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well.”

When it comes to official talks or proposals from Warner Brothers, Bale had this to say: ”I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it.”

There you have it Maniacs. I wonder what it would take for Bale to join the franchise and don the cowl again? The right script? The right director? I don’t think it has anything to do with money.

uh, didn't we know this already? I could there was a statement after the Dark Knight  from Bale saying he (as well as Nolan) wouldn't do a JL movie.

And I think everyone agrees that Bale and Nolan's Batman just wouldn't fit in a JLA film.

They're apples and oranges.

Bale is smart. He'll stay far away from the JL. WB has no idea what they're doing with their movies.

Has anyone been talking like Bale was going to do it?  He seems to have been on the 'no Justice League' since Batman Begins.  Heck when they starting ramping up the Justice League movie back in 2008, they went ahead and started casting Batman and Superman without Bale or Routh.

He also said 'NO ROBIN' and they stuck to that.  Mostly.

As far as direction and producing, nothing I've seen out of Nolan suggests that he is very interested in the prospect of a Justice League movie.  He definitley seems to want to keep HIS Batman seperate from the Justice League, and if Nolan is definetly out in that regard, Bale seems to be too.

Though Snyder seems up to it!

As Johnny Depp has taught us all, It has EVERYthing to do with money. Bale would wear a pink BatSuit if they drove a large enough dump truck full of money to his house, don't ever kid yourself into thinking differently.

I don't think it matters if he's in JL or not because I feel a JL movie is unlikely. And Cavill as much as admitted it in an interview. He didn't say it so many words per se but I got the feeling he doesn't think it's going to happen.

Good riddance.

The Bale/Nolan Batman doesn't fit in the DCU anyhow.

Man of Steel is at $520,277,596 worldwide. The first iron Man made $585,174,222 worldwide when it was done. Man OF Steel, for the new DCU movies, is going nicely.

The Justice League is going to happen. It is just a matter of time. Now they just need to find a new Batman. DC/WB wants this to al;l happen. The only thing Cavill has has said in regards to the JL is that he wants them to take their time making it.

I am personally ready for a new Batman. By the third one, Bale's gruff "Batman voice" was like a joke. I bought Batman Begins and TDK on blu-ray. I haven't had the desire to own a copy of TDKR. In the end, Nolan totally pissed on the whole mythos, IMO. Also, can we have a BIT less body armor for the Batsuit next time around? Nolan's Batman started to look more like Iron Man by TDKR. I want to see a Batman in grey and black, in a garment, not an exoskeleton. Oh and no frigging leather either!!

Any JL movie will HAVE to have Batman in it. After all, it's Wayne's billions that bankroll the team and their HQ. I like the comic storyline that has Batman making sure he has a contingency plan to put each member down, should they go rogue.

Bale has had his time in the sun, whilst under the cowl, lol.....

I'd much rather see somebody new take up the Mantle of the Bat....

Sam Worthington has my vote......
