Kannagi complete collection of 350 min verses Lucky Star complete collection of 600 min WITH english track being 10 dollars less makes you wonder just how much the license for Kannagi really cost.

Keep in mind that Lucky Star had Kadakowa's backing (partnership I think)  which may have changed the price Bandai paid and that this is the first "full retailer" release for Kannagi as it was exclusive to TRSI before. Those factors (plus the weak performance it looks like LS put in for it's singles run) may contribute to the pricing plan they are using as much as the license cost.

I'm actually surprised that Bandai has lasted this long with so many delays and problems. I have a feeling within the next 2 years Bandai will proably fold.

Any idea if the Lucky Star boxset will have the OVA on it?  Or will it just be the 24 episodes from the TV series?

When Sentai Filmworks has put out more product in the last six months than you have in the last year and a half, it's not a good sign.

While I'm glad they're finally putting out a Lucky Star DVD set, where the hell is the Gurren Lagann DVD set? I'm also willing to bet that both titles mentioned above will be delayed to May (or later) by the time March rolls around.

Sure, I may rag on Sentai for their questionable subtitle quality and lack of dub on everything, but at least they've been consistent with their street dates. Bandai, on the other hand, probably couldn't care less and is most likely planning an exit strategy for the U.S. market as we speak.

Good riddance if Bandai does leave.

They were good when they had shows like Scryed, Scrapped Princess, and even Galaxy Angel.

But after Seed Destiny, Haruhi, Haruhi's Shadow, and that stunt via Bandai Visual; them not being in the West would be a good thing.
