Bandai has given the go-ahead to adapt their upcoming card game Battle Spirits into an anime and new manga series in the fall, reports Moon Phase. The new card game, which hits shelves on September 13, has been in development for three years and its release will be marked as the 20th anniversary of Bandai's Carddas trading card vending machines.
Sunrise will produce the anime adaptation (preliminary image above) which will broadcast in the fall. The animators plan to incorporate computer graphics to portray the battles from the card game.
The Battle Spirits manga (preliminary image at left) will launch in Kadokawa Shoten's Kerokero Ace children's manga magazine, which will hit shelves on July 26. The magazine will also run articles about game strategy, profile the story's characters, and include bonus cards. The cards will represent dragons, demons, birds, insects and other spirits that the players will control in battles.
