Just like Dark Schneider, the "Best of Bastard!! Original Soundtrack" is finally back again, returning to full anime music glory, with its magnificent, thundering score by the juggernaut of anime composers, Kohei Tanaka (One Piece, Gad Guard, Gate Keepers, Gundam 08th MS Team, Angelic Layer, Betterman, Dragon Half, Galaxy Express 999, Otaku No Video, Sakura Wars TV, OVA and Movie, Gunbuster).

This 30-track CD compiles all the essential music from the popular swords-and sorcerers adventure, including the song "Ancient Lullaby," as well as both the original Japanese and English language versions of the rockin' ending theme song, "Monochrome Trouble."

This CD also features a full-color insert booklet with lyrics and track titles translated into English, as well as romanized

The Review!
As refreshing as it may be to see music being released for what are becoming the "new classics of anime", Best of Bastard!! failed to capture me. The production values are stellar and the Kohei Tanaka score is an adventurous romp, to be sure. And yet, I cannot make myself listen to the whole thing in one sitting; it just doesn't conjure for me the way it should. It is definitely not a standalone piece. If you loved the anime, this is a worthwhile investment, just to have it, but don't say I didn't warn you. Tanaka's work on Galaxy Express 999 is far superior, even though you might have to dig a little before finding it.
