DC Direct has released an image of their upcoming BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE: BATMAN statue. It was sculpted by Jonathan Matthews.

This original creation, inspired by Steve Rude, is painted in monochromatic tones, which reflect the mood of Batman: Black and White VOL. 1 and 2. The limited-edition statue measures approximately 6.75" tall x 5.25" wide x 7.75" deep. It stands atop a logo-shaped base, and is packaged in a black-and-white box.

It will go on sale in August 2006, with a price tag of $55.

It would be great if Cinescape Magazine was still being published, then we could see a really cool picture of this statue.

Yeah, there's alot of totally expensive garbage out there that most normal fans wouldn't give a second glance. Here is a good example of something moderately priced that even the mildly hardcore fans can appreciate. Good move DC.

wow, are they sure that this is a DC product? it's done really well! and the price is great. i'm curious how many of the replica batman belts they sat on before realizing that they needed to do things a little differently. definately will get this one.
