Well I already had this film as a must see and that just makes me happier to see it.
Act of Valor appears to be taking that a step further if the ads are truthful with real Navy Seals supposedly strring in the film

Universal Pictures has revealed a new featurette for Battleship, the sci-fi invasion tale loosely based on the Hasbro board game. Check out the behind-the-scene action down below and sound off with your thoughts. The action adventure stars Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna and Asano Tadanobu. Director Peter Berg led the production, based on a screenplay by Erich and Jon Hoeber.
Plot Concept: "Battleship" stars Taylor Kitsch as Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper's older brother, Commanding Officer Stone of the USS Samson; Rihanna as Lt. Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.
Battleship sails into theaters on May 18, 2012.

I am a sucker for movies like Battleship....I love big action moviess.....plus, Peter Berg makes some damn good movies....The Rundown is still one of my favorites action/ comedy movies of all time....and The Kingdom was brutal...
This is absolutely wonderful. Not only would I love the filming on actual naval ships, it is fantastic that actual military personnel and vets get to be in a movie. It reminds me of the 80s film Final Countdown shot aboard an aircraft carrier with some sailors having speaking roles. Or the last Stargate DVD movie where a real naval nuclear sub and crew are briefly featured.
This movie really wasn't on my radar to see in the theater, but this BTS puts it up a notch in my book.
