Diamond Select (DST) has announced plans to release a new BattleStar Galactica Collectible.

Via a recent agreement, Art Asylum will handle development of the resin collectibles and Minimate block figures for both the classic show and the modernized series, while DST will handle the marketing and sales of the new line.

"With Battlestar Galactica, it was an incredibly easy decision to make when Art Asylum approached us," said Diamond Select Toys Marketing and Sales Supervisor, Michael Leavey. "Art Asylum quickly added it to their library of properties and, as with our Star Trek line, we immediately began talks to help produce the highest quality products possible."

With designs already well underway, DST and Art Asylum plan to release several resin busts featuring key characters from both series as well as a miniaturized line of Minimate block figures. While specific details and images are not yet available, early Minimate prototypes were featured during February's American International Toy Fair in New York. The first series of Minimates is expected to ship later this year.

This show is not for little kids, so it is silly to market nBSG toys to them.

Trust me 90% of the minimates market is aimed at adults not kids.

Which is sad.

"90% of the minimates market is aimed at adults..."

Adults who have obviously yet to discover the joys of sex.

...and who REALLY need to get out of their parent's basement more often.

...Or maybe they just aren't snooty like you two, considering themselves, what? Superior? Just because an adult buys a toy while you don't?

Yeah, maybe that's it. Maybe those adults are just not snooty pricks. :)

Maybe us "snooty" adults act our age, not like little children playing with dollies.

The Art Asylum tagline is "PSYCHO TOYZ FOR CRAZY KIDZ"- *not* psycho toyz for bedwetting 30-year-olds who still live with mommy.

Albeit I have no interest in these, I LOVE the pose for Baltar and Six. That's hilarious!
