In a topic that's since been removed from the message boards of the official Michael Bay website, the director vented his anger at the news that Paramount would be abandoning the Blu-Ray format and releasing 'Transformers' only in HD-DVD and standard DVD formats.
I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!
However, Bay's withdrawal from the mega-million dollar franchise appears to have been short-lived. Bay's comments were excised from the site and replaced with a more innocuous message from his webmaster, Nelson:
I spoke to Michael a few minutes ago.
He said he just wants people to know that we should be able to view his movies in the format of our choice. Period.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Keep in mind he quit Pearl Harbor abut 4x during pre-production.
