I like the Silver Surfer as a B-grade (or is that C-grade) stock characer. However, after seeing the first "Fantastic Four", I have no desire to pay and see the second.

Especially not for Jessica Alba -- who is not nearly as hot as half of you think.

dang, you really are just searching for attention... because there is no way you could not have anything positive to say about anything new on these sites unless you were just trying to cause trouble. and she isnt as hot as half of us think. more like twice as so.

Hey, I'm not a big Alba fan either, don't get me wrong she is a beautiful girl, but tastes vary, and I don't see all the fuss. As for FF, I too was a little let down by the first, but since I saw it in theatre I have watched it again and honestly enjoyed it a lot more. I found it to be a lot of fun. Hopefully the second run will be just as much fun without the plot holes. I'm looking forward to the Surfer, you can call him a B or C list character, but in his day he was pretty damn cool, if done right he could be the highlight of this film.

Well, at least he actually made a normal comment, instead of something plain stupid.
The first F.F. wasn't a great flick, but like a lot of origin films, it needed to establish the characters for the non-comic reading public. This one should have more action as well as content, especially with the addition of Norin Radd.
Again, I really hope that Braugher isn't playing a Nick Fury or even someone Nick Furyesque.

Though his comments are pessimistic I have to grudginly agree with jamesdalton. I've collected FF comics for 20 years, one of my favorites. The first FF movie left me wondering if this was the best they could do or if the filmakers realized along with us that the film fell below it's potential. If they think they did a great job then FF 2 will likely suffer in the same way. As for Alba I agree she's pretty but not much more. I didn't care for her Susan Storm or Dark Angel or much of anything else she's been in but I don't fault others who see more. I'm willing to give her another look in FF 2. I guesss I'm a hopeless optimist.

I can't believe there's a sequel to this movie.
I had thought it bombed in theaters... or at least did poorly. oh well. Maybe I'll rent the first one but I'd sooner rent "Bloodrayne" to see just what Uwe Bolle did to piss off so many fans. =P

It seems to me there is an increasing tendency to rate everything at the extremes.. either "It is GREAT!" or "It STINKS!". To me, the FF movie fit somewhere in between. No, it was not great. There were things about it which didn't really work for me. On the other hand, I think they also got some things "right" - and, overall.. OVERALL... I thought it was a fun, lightweight comic book movie, and I enjoyed it. And I am keeping my fingers crossed that the sequel is worthwhile.

As to Ms Alba - come on guys, FF is not Schindler's List, and she made a fine Sue Storm. IF she is not a particular person's "type"... well... fine... but I am not sure what the point is in singling her out. It is not as if FF was a tour de force of great acting, drug down by Jessica Alba... ;)

I'm sure Jessica Alba is crushed that dickless asshat Jamesdalton doesn't think she's hot. As for the movie, it was better than I expected and much better than most internet fanboys give it credit for.

#6 - browbeat, FF didn't bomb, in fact it was one of last summer's few box office successes. It made about $154M and $330M worldwide. If that doesn't sound like much compared to this summer's Pirates movie, keep in mind that 2005 was a bad year at the box office (especially prior to the holiday season) with pundits running around blaming the poor box office performance on the short lead times for DVD releases, gasoline prices, video games, and every other scapegoat they could imagine.

FF was a good popcorn movie, nothing more. I was entertained, but i'll be damned if i'll buy the DVD. Alba is hot, but that was "Marketing focused" casting call there. I thought everything else was decently close to the comics. Of course, I saw the never released FF, and let me tell you, THIS FF is Oscar gold compaired to THAT pile of sh_t!!!!!!
