This was the first episode that felt like they were deviating from the original British stories. Up to this point, they have been very similar.

Ancient vampires visit our little town and are looking for a good time. Bishop takes the party planning seriously and kidnaps Josh to werewolf fight for his peers. First off, the fight is a big failure. There’s the start of the fight between two werewolves, a commercial, and it’s over. I know this show is on a budget but if Josh is actually going to kill another living being it should have been way more epic than happening during a commercial. Even if the cgi looked a little goofy at least the story would have been properly told. This episode had a few moments of soap opera melodrama and the one interesting story was cut off at the knees. The only true thing this story did was put Aiden back in a place we all knew he was going from the beginning of the season. Worst of all is that Sally got absolutely nothing to do this week other than look worried.

The show made a huge, huge mistake with a cgi werewolf, as this episode aptly demonstrated. The UK version had an episode end a week or so ago with Aiden and Sally sitting in the middle of a cage with 3 werewolves outside, trying to get in. Very scary. Can't get anywhere near that with this. Sci-Fi should just junk the cgi werewolf and go "man in suit" as God intended. Extremely fake looking, and obviously too expensive to keep on the screen for very long.
I haven't been watching these, but am a big fan of the UKZ version. I'm not one of those fickle people that ussually only like "The English version" (I know a lot of peeps like that and they annoy me)
But having watched the original, would I like the US version as well? Is there enough difference in the plots that I'll not be watching the same exact story?
