According to Variety, director Bennett Miller (Capote) has signed on to helm Paramount Vatage's THE IMMORTALIST.

The script, which has yet to be written, is a character-driven drama set in the emerging world of life extension.

Miller describes it as "not a science fiction film ... a drama set in the very real world of those pursuing biological immortality." He adds, "It's a pursuit that attracts some extremely brilliant, wealthy and influential people. It also attracts tragic figures. This story follows one such person on his disturbing foray into it."

Dante Harper has been picked to write a screenplay for the film.

For a script that has yet to be written, it sure sounds like a rip-off of James Gunn's "The Immortals."

Anyone find out why Cinescape deleted a whole bunch of accounts?

So I'm guessing this is just another Oscarized movie being made to give actors and actresses an opportunity to act in something for the shear hope of winning an Oscar. Now without guessing, I can tell you I won't be interested in seeing this.

Dalton must have IBS. Did Cinescape delete some accounts? That must be why wessmith is now wessmith1966. Either that, or he always has been and I just never noticed...

They deleted a boat load of accounts yesterday, including mine, with not so much as an explanation. Wow, even Wessmith got deleted? He`s never said a bad thing about anyone on Cinescape.
